Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bob Brody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brody's entrance music is my name is mud. A fine choice. Diaz comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Gasolina kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Bob Brody!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Sergio Diaz!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brody throws a right and a left that both miss.
Diaz was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

Diaz closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Brody quickly recovers to half guard.

Brody makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Diaz darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brody is looking to regain half guard here but Diaz keeps moving and retains side control.

Diaz thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
My spies in Gorilla Warfare MMA inform me that Diaz has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Diaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brody swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Brody pulls Diaz in close to his closed guard and prevents Diaz from doing any damage or advancing position.
Brody really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Brody feints a jab promting Diaz to slip. Brody then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Diaz slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Diaz throws a leg kick but Brody sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Diaz goes for a double leg but Brody avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Brody continues to drive forward.

Diaz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Diaz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Brody is looking to control Diaz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Brody avoid being mounted?

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Brody shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Diaz eats them both and turns towards Brody to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Brody scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
A combination from Brody does no damage.

Diaz manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Brody on his heels. He'll look to pass Brody's guard now, I'm sure.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

I would just about give that final round to Sergio Diaz.
I've got Diaz winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
