Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kona Bud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: I Love the Cocaine. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

James fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
A nice inside leg kick there by Bud. That's going to slow James down.
Bud finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Bud throws a low kick but James moves out of range easily.

Bud uses good head movement to avoid the hook from James.

James sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

I was talking to Bud's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

James drops Bud onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Bud is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Bud is rocked!
It looks like Kona Bud has been cut.
James stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Oh Bud is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bud is breathing heavily.
Bud pushes James back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Bud can't find room to land a body shot as James controls the action.

James creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Bud with a big uppercut! Bud tries to clinch up but James pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Bud to the mat! Bud covers up and James unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Rick James!
