Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sebastiaan Rutten! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Fjera! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rutten moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Rutten takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Rutten has been working on his boxing with his coaches at LOD: Legion's PIT Fight Club in the buildup to the fight. Fjera misses with a straight right. Fjera missing with a left hand there. Rutten was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Rutten avoids the body shot from Fjera.
A jab lands there for Fjera. Fjera scores with a jab to the jaw. We've been informed that Fjera has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Rutten ducks right into an uppercut from Fjera. Fjera swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rutten counters with a body kick. Fjera scores with a nice head shot. Fjera with a jab. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rutten takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fjera throws a body shot but no joy. Rutten looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. Decent striking displayed by Fjera there. Rutten uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Fjera. Fjera throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Fjera stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Fjera throws a body punch but Rutten moves out of range. Rutten tried to counter with a leg kick but Fjera avoided it. Fjera closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rutten circles away. Rutten throws a big counter combination but Fjera scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Fjera looks to land a combination but Rutten avoids it well. Rutten swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Rutten tries to move into range but Fjera moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Fjera misses with a takedown attempt and Rutten makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Fjera really felt that one!

Rutten is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Fjera lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Rutten falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Nick Fjera! Nick Fjera is the new heavyweight champion! A less than humble Nick Fjera misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
