Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Obi Canuel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ground Guru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Obi Canuel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ground Guru! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Canuel closes the distance and pushes Guru back into the cage. Canuel lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Canuel landing knees to the body.
Guru jumps guard but Canuel stands there with Guru around his waist. Guru gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Guru jumps guard but Canuel turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Guru misses with a hook from the clinch. A short left from Canuel. Canuel lands a nice uppercut. Canuel lands a nice knee to the body. Canuel misses with a body punch.
Canuel makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Canuel lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Guru backwards. Guru tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Canuel's elbow. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Canuel lands a good knee to the midsection. Guru won't want to take too many of those. Guru looks winded! Guru tries to pull guard but Canuel won't allow it.
Obi Canuel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ground Guru. Canuel escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A slapping body kick lands there for Canuel. Canuel connects with a single shot there. Canuel has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Phoenix Mixed Martial Arts in the buildup to the fight. Guru tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Guru has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Canuel throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Guru. Canuel keeps Guru at a distance using the push kick. Canuel clinches up against the cage. Guru takes a knee to the side of the body. Canuel lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Canuel lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Canuel lands a left hand.
Canuel lands a body punch. Canuel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Canuel lands a jab to the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Guru shoots in but no luck this time. Canuel appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. A head kick lands from Canuel that sends Guru to the canvas. Guru tries to scramble back to his feet but Canuel brings him back down into side control.
Guru is rocked! Canuel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Guru keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Canuel connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Guru some visible discomfort.
Guru can't do much from the bottom here. Canuel taking a breather here. Canuel works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Canuel lands an elbow. Canuel in side control lands a decent elbow. Canuel prevents Guru from escaping the position. Guru taking punishment in the form of punches.
Guru is working to avoid the ground and pound but Canuel connects with a decent elbow. Canuel in side control lands a decent elbow. Guru is still in real trouble! Can Canuel finish him? Canuel controlling from side mount. Guru seems to have recovered his senses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guru tries to bench press Canuel off him but Canuel keeps the position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Canuel landing strikes. Canuel is putting a hurting on Guru here, landing some big shots from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Canuel looks up at the clock and then as Guru takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Canuel smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Canuel lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Guru down.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Guru wants to control but Canuel postures up. A lull in the action here. Canuel scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Guru to see if he's OK. Guru is looking to regain half guard here but Canuel keeps moving and retains side control. Canuel in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Canuel is putting a hurting on Guru here, landing some big shots from side control. Canuel landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Guru takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Canuel in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Guru looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Canuel turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Obi Canuel! A very excited looking Obi Canuel made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction. In defeat, Ground Guru stepped up to the mic, saying 'thanks for coming out!'.
