Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Hess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Varg Veide (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hess comes to the cage accompanied by Demiurge. Veide has chosen Bachman-Turner Overdrive - Taking Care of Business as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

33 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Varg Veide!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A lazy body kick from Hess
and Hess takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A swing and a miss from Hess.
Hess sets himself, and Veide steps forward looking for the clinch! Hess avoids it this time.
Veide jabs Hess to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Veide swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Veide misses with the combination.
Hess looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Hess throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Hess throws a hook but Veide avoids it easily.
Hess swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Veide has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Veide dodges the punch combination from Hess.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hess needs to keep his hands up - Veide had a free shot at his head there.
It looks like Jon Hess has been cut.
Hess throws out a loose jab but Veide uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jon Hess seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hess throws a nice outside leg kick.
Veide has taken the fight to the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Still in the clinch, Hess scores with a nice short uppercut.
Veide breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hess throws a half hearted mid kick.
Hess takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Hess lands with a kick to the temple. Veide shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Nice body punch from Hess.
Veide uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
A jab from Veide misses.
Hess with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Hess throws the left hand but Veide avoids the punch easily.
Hess rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Veide counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hess's knee momentarily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A chopping leg kick lands by Veide.
Hess avoids a kick to the body.
Veide misses with an uppercut.
Hess gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Veide counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Veide misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Veide uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hess.
Hess connects with a right hand. Veide shakes it off.
Hess misses with a hook. Veide ducked under it nicely.
A telegraphed right hand from Hess misses the target.
Hess throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Hess steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Veide.
Veide misses with a hook
and Hess counters with a body kick that stops Veide in his tracks momentarily.
Veide drops Hess with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Hess looks back up at him and smiles so Veide waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Hess is rocked!
Jon Hess's cut is getting worse.
Veide fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Hess square on the jaw! Damn, Hess is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Varg Veide!
Varg Veide decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
