Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Don Collier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Headden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Don Collier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Headden!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Headden's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Collier connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Headden scrambles back to his feet.
Collier throws a jab when Headden was well out of range.

Headden drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Headden accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Collier wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Headden is now in half guard.
Collier gets back to full guard.

Collier had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Headden defends it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Headden wants to control from the top but Collier keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Headden throwing strikes but missing.
Collier is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Collier tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Headden throwing strikes but missing.
Headden tries to free his leg and advance position but Collier is retaining full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Collier is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Headden controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

Collier is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Headden sees it coming and defends easily.
Headden wants to get back to his feet.
Headden wants to get back to full guard.
Collier works his foot free and advances to mount.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Headden is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Collier controlling the position easily from mount.
Collier looking to control but Headden is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Collier is landing with some decent strikes but Headden is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Collier tries to control but Headden wriggling away.
Collier controlling the pace for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Collier dominating with strikes here.
Headden gets back to half guard.
Collier prevents Headden from improving his position.
Collier has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Collier lands with some strikes.
Collier landing strikes from the mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Headden throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Collier trying to control but Headden is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Don Collier dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Headden shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Collier but Collier pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Headden takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Headden tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Collier defends well and Headden ends up having to push Collier into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Collier just misses with a punch to the body.
Collier throws a chopping leg kick but Headden manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Collier is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Headden can do to turn this around?
Jab, jab by Collier - just one landing.
Headden will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Don Collier has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Headden.
Headden shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Collier pinned against the cage. Collier gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A little feinted left hand from Collier on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Collier swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Headden.
Collier stuffs the takedown.

Collier connects with a right hand. Headden shakes it off.
Whack! Collier lands a heavy head kick that drops Headden. The ref tackles Collier to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Headden was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Don Collier!
Don Collier decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
