Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mitar Miric (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Boone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miric's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Mitar Miric - Ko je onaj mladic. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Phil Schofield and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miric misses with a looping right.
Boone takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Miric misses with an uppercut
and Boone counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Miric looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Miric swings for the body but Boone moves out of range.
Miric throws a push kick but Boone slaps the foot to one side.
Boone is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

and Boone counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mitar Miric seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice inside leg kick there by Miric. That's going to slow Boone down.

Boone shoots in looking for a takedown but Miric manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Boone's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

And Boone tries to counter it with a takedown but Miric pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Miric fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Boone.

Miric pulls Boone in close to his closed guard and prevents Boone from doing any damage or advancing position.

and Boone counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Boone.

Boone stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miric swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Boone might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Miric haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boone postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Boone wants to pass the guard but Miric is keeping the position.
Robert Boone has got the better of the ground game so far.

Miric tries to land a front kick but Boone steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A little jabbing left from Boone on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Boone fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Miric avoids it really well and circles away.

Boone has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Miric throws a lazy right hand but Boone sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Miric lands a leg kick that knocks Boone off balance momentarily.
Miric throws a low kick but Boone avoids it.
Miric fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Boone has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Miric looks to land a combination but Boone avoids it well.
Miric looks to score with a jab to the body but Boone is just out of range.
Boone closes this distance looking for a takedown but Miric circles away.

enabling Boone to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Mitar Miric has been cut.
Miric bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Miric fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Boone looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Miric lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
