Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paddy Bateman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Obi Canuel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paddy Bateman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Obi Canuel! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bateman has a takedown stuffed. Bateman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Canuel is looking for the big counter here. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Canuel has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Bateman misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Canuel swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Bateman ducks under a wild hook from Canuel. Bateman misses with a few strikes there.
Bateman has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Bateman throws a hook to the side of Canuel's head but Canuel sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Canuel throws a series of punches but Bateman moves out of range. Canuel takes a swing at Bateman's ribcage but misses. A solid leg kick lands there for Canuel.
That's one minute gone in the round. Canuel tries to land a front kick but Bateman steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Bateman staying out of range there. Canuel throws out a powerful jab. Bateman shoots in looking for a takedown but Canuel manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bateman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paddy Bateman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Canuel scores with a jab to the head.
Obi Canuel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Canuel works the jab nicely. Bateman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Canuel looks to land a combination but Bateman avoids it well. Bateman fails with a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Canuel connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Canuel looks to throw the jab but Bateman is out of range. Bateman misses with a hook. Bateman fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Bateman throws an overhand right that lands on Canuel's shoulder, as Canuel tries to avoid the shot. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bateman pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Bateman throws a hook but Canuel blocks it. Bateman tries to bum rush Canuel with a series of wild strikes but Canuel uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Canuel is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Bateman with a body shot. Danga de danga de dang - Canuel scores with a four punch combination!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Canuel throws a body punch but Bateman moves out of range. Canuel moves forwards but Bateman connects with a nice, crisp jab. Canuel cracks the inside of Bateman's front leg. Canuel defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bateman. Bateman checks the leg kick. Bateman checks a leg kick. Canuel tests Bateman's chin there with a solid looking shot. Canuel turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Bateman dives in and grabs Canuel's left leg, looking for a takedown. Canuel pushes down on Bateman's head and hops out. Canuel now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Canuel lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Bateman backs up against the cage.
It looks like Paddy Bateman has been cut. Canuel throws a series of punches but Bateman avoids them all with ease. Bateman drops down looking for a counter takedown but Canuel sprawls and moves away. Canuel lands an overhand right. This has been an exciting period of action! Bateman takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Bateman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Canuel as he jumps to the side. Bateman throws the left hand but Canuel avoids the punch easily. Bateman misses with a takedown attempt and Canuel counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Bateman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Canuel connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Bateman momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Obi Canuel dominated that round. The cut man is working on Paddy Bateman's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Bateman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Canuel manages to avoid it. Canuel avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Bateman lands with a nice combination. Canuel backs away looking to recover. Canuel throws an off balance right hand
and Bateman counters with a nice double leg into guard. Bateman pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Canuel is keeping the position for now. Bateman is looking to advance position but Canuel has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Canuel dominating with strikes here. Bateman is wriggling around trying to escape.
Canuel lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Canuel scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Canuel looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Bateman is rocked! Canuel with a couple of short strikes. Oh Bateman is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bateman can't escape the position.
Bateman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Canuel postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Bateman in real trouble here! The ref calls for Bateman to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Obi Canuel! A relieved looking Obi Canuel thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
