Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Claymore Longshanks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gunner Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Claymore Longshanks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gunner Harris!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Anthony Taglia and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Longshanks ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Harris misses with a looping right.
Longshanks swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Harris misses with a double jab.
A big left from Longshanks misses.

Harris moves into range and clinches up with Longshanks.
Harris tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Longshanks lands a hook to the side of the head.
Harris tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Longshanks just stands there and leans against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Harris blocks an uppercut.
Longshanks's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Longshanks breaks the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
No joy there for Harris, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Harris bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Harris drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Longshanks defends it well.
Harris displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Longshanks throws out the jab.
Longshanks has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Team Abraham in the buildup to the fight.
Harris moves out of range as Longshanks strikes.
Harris is looking for the big counter here.
A left lands for Longshanks.
Harris closes this distance looking for a takedown but Longshanks circles away.
Claymore Longshanks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gunner Harris.
Longshanks pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Longshanks avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
It looked like Longshanks wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Harris fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Longshanks to the ground. Harris is now in Longshanks's guard.
Longshanks is trying to keep Harris in close.
Harris controls from within his opponent's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harris works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Harris perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Harris looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Longshanks is looking to improve his position.
Harris is figuring out what he wants to do next.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Harris is looking to stall here but Longshanks recovers full guard.
Longshanks keeping moving, preventing Harris from controlling successfully.
Harris won't allow Longshanks to sweep him here.
Harris trying to control the position from guard on top but Longshanks is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Harris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Longshanks swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Claymore Longshanks is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Longshanks throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Longshanks has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Claymore Longshanks has been cut.
Harris moves away from the strike by Longshanks.
Longshanks throws the left hand but Harris avoids the punch easily.
Longshanks looks to land a left hand but Harris moved out of range nicely.
Harris missing with a left hand there. Longshanks was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Longshanks throws a hook but Harris avoids it easily.
Harris does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Longshanks is looking to counter punch.
Harris misses with a double jab.
Longshanks is looking to counter punch.
Harris wants to clinch up but Longshanks keeps it at a distance.
Longshanks thows a leg kick but Harris checks it

and Harris counters with a shoot takedown. Longshanks fights it but they end up in guard.
Harris is stalling in the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gunner Harris dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Claymore Longshanks's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A punch combination from Harris misses.
It looked like Longshanks was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Longshanks connects with an inside leg kick.
Harris dives in and grabs Longshanks's left leg, looking for a takedown. Longshanks pushes down on Harris's head and hops out.
Claymore Longshanks is winning the standup battle so far.
Harris tries to clinch but Longshanks moves away
and Longshanks counters with a good low kick that Harris was not able to check.
Longshanks tries to land a front kick but Harris steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Longshanks lands a left and a right that send Harris crashing to the mat, dazed. Longshanks thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Gunner Harris has been cut.
Nice defenses there by Harris.
Harris with the counter takedown but Longshanks avoids it easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A big right from Longshanks misses.
Harris drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Longshanks defends it well.

Longshanks thuds his right hand into Harris's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Longshanks throws a body shot but no joy.

Longshanks gets tackled into the cage by Harris. Harris maintains the clinch.
Longshanks is pressed up against the cage. Harris has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Longshanks down to the mat. Longshanks avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Longshanks lands a big right hand that sends Harris crashing to the mat! Longshanks stays standing though and waves Harris back to his feet!


Harris is rocked!
Harris switches off momentarily and Longshanks cracks him with a monster right hand! Harris topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Longshanks dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Longshanks!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Claymore Longshanks!
After the fight, Claymore Longshanks was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
