Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzales darts in looking for a takedown but Howard gets double underhooks and turns Gonzales into the cage.
Howard looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Gonzales shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Howard defends it nicely.
Gonzales has Howard up against the cage in a clinch.
Howard is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Gonzales breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Howard throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gonzales's waist but Gonzales gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Howard off to one side.

Gonzales tightens his grip and picks Howard up, before dumping him to the ground. Howard manages to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Howard can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gonzales controls the pace.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Howard defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gonzales.

Gonzales drops down looking for an ankle pick but Howard pulls his leg out and moves away.
Gonzales fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Howard sprawls well initially but Gonzales persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Howard is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Gonzales takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Howard is bucking up trying to escape but Gonzales cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Gonzales stands up from mount. Strange move.
Gonzales shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Howard napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We've been informed that Howard has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Gonzales in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Howard stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Howard wants it to stay on the feet.
Howard takes a swing at Gonzales's ribcage but misses.
Gonzales comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Gonzales shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gonzales fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Howard manages to avoid it.
Howard lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Gonzales looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Gonzales had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Howard defends it easily.
Gonzales pulls Howard in close to prevent any damage.
Gonzales might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Howard is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Gonzales has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Howard is looking to defend but Gonzales has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Howard! Gonzales pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Howard taps out and this one is all over!
