The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mansurov misses with a head kick.
Mansurov just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromPettersson. Pettersson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mansurov, pushing him back against the cage. Knees in the clinch landing for Pettersson.
Pettersson lands a body punch. Pettersson crunches a lovely knee into Mansurov's ribcage. Mansurov tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Knees to the body from Pettersson.

Christer Pettersson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mansurov takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Pettersson thuds his shin into the meat of Mansurov's side. Pettersson rushes Mansurov and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Pettersson obliges. Mansurov avoiding damage as Pettersson throws knees to the body.
Mansurov swings wildly with an uppercut but Pettersson uses good head movement to avoid it. Pettersson wants the takedown. Mansurov is fighting it off but Pettersson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mansurov's guard against the cage. Mansurov utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Mansurov throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pettersson throwing strikes from guard but Mansurov blocks nicely. Pettersson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mansurov is proving hard to escape from. Mansurov keeping full guard, as Pettersson tries to pass. Pettersson throwing strikes from guard but Mansurov blocks nicely. Pettersson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Pettersson wants to get up but he can't break Mansurov's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Pettersson wants to control from the top but Mansurov keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Mansurov is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pettersson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mansurov works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Mansurov not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Pettersson content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Mansurov has locked up a guillotine! Mansurov's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Pettersson is holding on here and Mansurov must be using up a lot of energy. Pettersson has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Mansurov gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
