Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Pereira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vasily Virastuk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcus Pereira! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vasily Virastuk! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Steve Montenegro and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Virastuk misses with an uppercut
and Pereira counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Virastuk pushes Pereira off but Pereira dives into side control.
Virastuk is trying to get back to half guard. Virastuk is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Virastuk defending against the ground and pound. Virastuk is looking to reverse the position. Pereira thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Virastuk can't do much from the bottom here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Virastuk is not content to let Pereira control the position. Pereira is really struggling to control Virastuk but he's trying to hold on to the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Virastuk can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pereira wants to lay and pray for a moment but Virastuk keeps working. What's Virastuk going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle. Pereira wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Virastuk, who protects the arm well. Virastuk explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Virastuk throws a good cross that connects.
Pereira lands with a straight right. Virastuk didn't see that one coming. Virastuk tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pereira swats him away and circles back towards the center. Pereira closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Virastuk quickly recovers to half guard. Pereira stops Virastuk from getting back to his feet.
Pereira is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Virastuk doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pereira. Virastuk is defending against the submission attempts here by Pereira.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Virastuk tries to kick Pereira off but Pereira keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Pereira is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Virastuk is just riding it out for now. Pereira eventually gives up the hold. Pereira stops Virastuk from getting back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Virastuk preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Virastuk tries to get to full guard but Pereira has control of the leg. Virastuk keeping hold of Pereira's head, controlling as best he can. Pereira tries to pass the half guard into mount. Virastuk knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Pereira seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Virastuk does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Virastuk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pereira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pereira is trying to work for a kimura but Virastuk is defending well.
Virastuk is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pereira staying out of range there. Pereira tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Virastuk swivels and escapes. Pereira takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Virastuk throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Pereira tries to counter with a takedown but Virastuk is quick to defend against it. Virastuk throws a lazy head kick and Pereira counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Virastuk is not content to let Pereira control the position. Virastuk looks like he's trying to stand up.
Virastuk wants to control but Pereira is keeping busy and won't allow it. Pereira is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Virastuk is just riding it out for now. Pereira eventually gives up the hold.
That's one minute gone in the round. Virastuk kicks off Pereira and gets to his feet. Virastuk throws the left hand but Pereira avoids the punch easily. Virastuk lands a left and a right that sends Pereira crashing to the canvas! Virastuk dives into mount looking to finish!
It looks like Marcus Pereira has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Virastuk is standing up, even though he is in mount. Pereira gets a clinch. Virastuk connects with a knee to the head.
Virastuk has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Virastuk lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Virastuk's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. That kick from Virastuk tenderised Pereira's leg. Pereira is trying to keep his angry face on. Virastuk throws a good cross that connects.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Virastuk looks to land a combination but Pereira avoids it well. Pereira tries to counter with a takedown but Virastuk is quick to defend against it. Virastuk cracks Pereira with a left hook right on the temple and Pereira goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Virastuk lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Pereira is OK!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Vasily Virastuk! In defeat, Marcus Pereira stepped up to the mic, saying 'My doctor says it's not good for my health fighting at this weight... so I'm gonna retire, 'cause I want to keep eating like a madman!'.
