Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drew Barron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franky Page (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franky Page is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Drew Barron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Franky Page!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Page ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Page shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Barron as he jumps to the side.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Page has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Barron fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.


It looks like Franky Page has been cut.
Page looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Page shoots in but Barron avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Drew Barron has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Franky Page.
Page slips a straight right by Barron.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barron fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Barron misses with a hook.

Page looking to score a takedown here. Barron is defending well but Page drives through and ends up in Barron's guard.

Barron is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Page presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Barron wants to break free but Page has control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Barron manages to break the clinch.
Drew Barron is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Page keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Barron throws a body punch but Page moves out of range.
Page feints the counter takedown.

Page scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Page stops Barron from getting back to his feet.
Barron taking some punishment here, with Page in his half guard.
Page wants to lay and pray for a moment but Barron keeps working.

Barron kicks Page off and gets back to his feet.
A looping hook to the body misses from Barron. Page does a little dance to reset his feet.

Page feints and as Barron raises his hands in defense, Page changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Page is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Page stops Barron from standing up.
Page scoring with some ground and pound.
Page trying to control but Barron is working from the bottom.
Page seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Page chips away with some ground and pound.
Barron on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Barron tries to get out of the position.
Page won't allow Barron to get back to his feet.
Page has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Barron misses with a jab, cross combination.

Barron looks to score with a jab to the body but Page is just out of range.
Page keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Barron.
Page changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Barron feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Page sprawling to the canvas! Page rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Barron finish him?!


Page is rocked!
Page shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Barron as he avoids it easily.
Page is still on wobbly legs! Can Barron finish him?

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Page fails to land the takedown.
Page seems to have recovered his senses.
Barron missing with a left hand there. Page was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Barron connects with a body shot.
Page gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Barron counters with a crisp right hand that drops Page! Barron lets Page back up to his feet, looking for a finish!


That has opened up Franky Page's cut even more.
Barron misses with a double jab

so Page counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Page stops Barron from standing up.
Page working some strikes from top position.
Page distracts Barron with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Barron wants to stand but Page is controlling the position.
Page trying to control but Barron is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Page is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Page keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Barron's head.
Page landing with the ground and pound.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Page content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Barron uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Page goes for a double leg but Barron avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Barron continues to drive forward.
Nice sprawl there from Barron as Page shoots in.
Barron is looking for a counter combo.
Page tries to score a power double leg takedown but Barron sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Page somewhat.
Barron was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Page throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Barron was covering up waiting for the punch and Page finishes the takedown easily into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Drew Barron dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Franky Page's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


No luck with that takedown attempt from Page.
Barron was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Barron seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Barron throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Page fails with the takedown.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Barron, as that shot connected.

Barron sends Page crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Barron is motioning to the referee to let Page up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Page dives in and grabs Barron's left leg, looking for a takedown. Barron pushes down on Page's head and hops out.
Barron throwing a counter right hand but Page manages to avoid it.
Drew Barron has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Franky Page.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Page avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Page tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Barron cracks Page with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Page looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Barron finish him?


The cut above Franky Page's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Page dives in for a single leg takedown but Barron sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Barron appears to be looking for a big counter.
Page dives in and grabs Barron's left leg, looking for a takedown. Barron pushes down on Page's head and hops out.
Page tries for a takedown but Barron circles away easily
and Barron counters with a huge right that knocks Page out cold! Barron is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Drew Barron!
After the fight, Drew Barron was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
