Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marius Catalin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Wu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Catalin's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Kanye West - Mercy . Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Marius Catalin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, James Wu! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Alyssa Summers and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Catalin misses with a body punch
letting Wu counter with a right hand. Wu throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Catalin tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wu is in Catalin's guard. Wu controls from within his opponent's guard. Catalin wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Wu is now in half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Catalin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wu is working away from the top position though. Catalin blocking the ground and pound attempt from Wu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wu not doing much here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wu working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Catalin avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wu. Catalin is trying to stand back up but Wu is controlling him
Well, if Wu is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Catalin has hold of Wu's hands but Wu slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Catalin's coaches at London MMA Club have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Wu takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Wu lands with a punch from half guard. Wu lands strikes from half guard. Catalin tries to kick Wu off but Wu keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Wu content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Catalin has hold of Wu's hands but Wu slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wu landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Wu drops an elbow to the side of Catalin's head. Wu working Catalin over with strikes. Catalin tries to kick Wu off but Wu keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Catalin is breathing heavily. Wu takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Catalin has hold of Wu's hands but Wu slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Catalin is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Wu scores with a couple of nice shots. Catalin is trying to maintain the position but Wu is very close to passing his half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Wu lands a nice short elbow. Wu is pressing down on Catalin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Catalin is holding on for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Catalin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wu is working away from the top position though. Catalin on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Wu slips a nice elbow through Catalin's hands, connecting with Catalin's forehead. Wu landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Wu working the head and body with strikes.
Catalin is rocked! Wu lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Oh Catalin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Wu has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Kung Fu Fighting Club ($250 entry fee). Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wu lands with a punch from half guard. Wu content to control rather than advance. Wu scoring with strikes to the body and head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Wu dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Wu closes the distance looking for a takedown. Catalin stuffs it but Wu still has hold of him. Wu picks Catalin up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Wu slams Catalin to the floor and that's really hurt Catalin - he doesn't know where he is! Wu throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Wu!
