20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Unz Unz! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gatsby fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Unz manages to avoid it. A jab from Gatsby misses. Gatsby stuffs the takedown attempt from Unz. Unz gets slowly back to his feet. Unz shoots in and bounces Gatsby off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Gatsby pulls Unz in close to prevent any damage. Gatsby seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Unz is looking to advance position but Gatsby has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Unz is looking to get to half guard. Unz flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gatsby with the ground and pound from mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gatsby working away from the top, dropping strikes. Gatsby has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Unz really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Gatsby can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Unz is looking to escape. Unz can't escape the position.
Unz is still trying to improve position. Gatsby raining down shots from the mount! Unz is desperately trying to improve his position but Gatsby has a good base and remains in mount. Gatsby working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Unz is rocked! Gatsby looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Unz covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
