The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Bruno Lombardi and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Mercy does no damage.
Mercy moves away from the strike by Anselmo.
Mercy ducks under a wild hook from Anselmo.
Mercy thuds his right hand into Anselmo's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Mercy thows a leg kick but Anselmo checks it
and Anselmo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Anselmo misses with a hook. Mercy ducked under it nicely.
Anselmo avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That kick from Anselmo tenderised Mercy's leg. Mercy is trying to keep his angry face on.
Anselmo is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Mercy's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Mercy stalks Anselmo and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Anselmo's face. Anselmo staggers backwards, shaken.
Mercy has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Nice uppercut lands for Anselmo. That snapped Mercy's head back.

Mercy fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Anselmo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Anselmo throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mercy stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Anselmo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mercy manages to avoid it.
Anselmo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mercy.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mercy tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Anselmo is able to avoid easily.
Anselmo throws an overhand right that lands on Mercy's shoulder, as Mercy tries to avoid the shot.

Mercy fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Anselmo checks it well.
Mercy uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Anselmo.

and Mercy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Waylon Mercy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mercy takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Anselmo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mercy.
Anselmo fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Anselmo walks into a jab.
Mercy missing with a left hand there. Anselmo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Anselmo uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mercy has time to react.
Mercy walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Anselmo checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Mercy makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Anselmo takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Waylon Mercy dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Mercy closes the distance and lands a one-two.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Anselmo might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
