Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Osman Tatarczuk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Barry Squireson! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Vladimir Khabensky and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Squireson throws out a loose jab but Tatarczuk uses good head movement to avoid it. Tatarczuk is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Squireson swats away the attempt to clinch by Tatarczuk. Tatarczuk tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Squireson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Osman Tatarczuk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Squireson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Tatarczuk throws a one two combo.
Tatarczuk misses with a jab, cross combination.
A countering left hand to the body from Squireson misses. Tatarczuk throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Squireson blocks a head kick by Tatarczuk.
Tatarczuk keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Squireson. Squireson circles away from the clinch attempt and Squireson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Osman Tatarczuk has been cut. Squireson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tatarczuk moves away. Tatarczuk seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. A big left from Tatarczuk misses. Squireson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Tatarczuk is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Squireson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Tatarczuk looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Tatarczuk tries to close the distance and clinch but Squireson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Tatarczuk tries to clinch there but Squireson circles away.
Tatarczuk misses with a combination
and Squireson counters with a straight right hand. Squireson misses with a hook. Squireson keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Squireson checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Squireson looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Squireson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Tatarczuk moves in looking to clinch but Squireson pushes him off. Squireson cracks Tatarczuk with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Tatarczuk falls to his knees and Squireson doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Barry Squireson!
