PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Troy Hooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noah McAdoo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McAdoo comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Rise and Shine kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Troy Hooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Noah McAdoo!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Sam Margolis and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooper takes a swing at McAdoo's ribcage but misses.
McAdoo lands a jab to Hooper's midsection.
A swing and a miss from Hooper.
Hooper throws a wild body kick that McAdoo sees coming a mile off.
Noah McAdoo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A punch lands to the side of McAdoo 's head but he takes it in his stride.
A lazy left from Hooper finds it's target.
McAdoo connects with an inside leg kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! McAdoo crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Hooper - the referee stops the clock and McAdoo gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Hooper. McAdoo manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
McAdoo wants to clinch.
Hooper swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hooper clobbers McAdoo with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Hooper gets tackled into the cage by McAdoo. McAdoo maintains the clinch.

McAdoo has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Hooper clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

That's one minute gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Hooper's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

McAdoo controlling the position well here. Hooper rolled but McAdoo kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Hooper wants to pass the guard but McAdoo is keeping the position.

Hooper got a little sloppy there for a moment and McAdoo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hooper has managed to get both his arms back between McAdoo's legs - danger averted.

McAdoo wants to control but Hooper postures up.
McAdoo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hooper wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Hooper connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused McAdoo some visible discomfort.
McAdoo tries to improve position but can't.
Hooper lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

McAdoo is trying to improve his position.

McAdoo takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
McAdoo has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Hooper lands a few punches from side control.
McAdoo prevents Hooper from moving into mount.
McAdoo is trying to work for a sweep but Hooper has mounted him!
Hooper postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. McAdoo looks a forlorn figure.
McAdoo tries to get back to half guard but can't.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Troy Hooper dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


McAdoo tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Hooper is able to avoid easily.
McAdoo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hooper swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hooper just misses with a punch to the body.
McAdoo looks like he wants to counter punch here.
McAdoo drops his hands momentarily and Hooper takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Hooper lands with a hook. McAdoo tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.


It looks like Noah McAdoo has been cut.
No joy there for McAdoo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
McAdoo uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hooper has time to react.
Troy Hooper is winning the standup battle so far.
McAdoo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McAdoo moves out of range of the strikes.
Hooper is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that McAdoo can do to turn this around?

McAdoo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hooper.
McAdoo missing with a left hand there. Hooper was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Hooper chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before McAdoo can pounce on him.
Hooper throws a body shot but no joy.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hooper.

Hooper misses with a hook.
McAdoo throws a counter combo.
McAdoo punishes Hooper's body with a nice straight punch.
Hooper lands with a kick to the ribs.
Hooper lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Hooper shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
A telegraphed right hand from Hooper misses the target.
Hooper goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Hooper throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
McAdoo throws a low kick but Hooper avoids it.
McAdoo misses with a straight left.
Sloppy strikes from McAdoo. Those never looked like landing.
McAdoo misses with the body kick
and Hooper counters with a straight right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McAdoo circles away from the clinch attempt.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from McAdoo! But no joy.
McAdoo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

McAdoo throws a series of punches but Hooper avoids them all with ease.
McAdoo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hooper was well out of range. Poor timing from McAdoo.
Hooper jabs McAdoo right on the nose. McAdoo blinks but takes it well.


McAdoo is rocked!

Hooper cracks McAdoo with an uppercut from hell and McAdoo crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Hooper's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
McAdoo is still in real trouble! Can Hooper finish him?
Hooper postures up and lands a big shot to McAdoo's brow.
Hooper connects with a couple of short punches.
Hooper scoring with some ground and pound.
Hooper working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of McAdoo's head.
Hooper sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McAdoo's guard.
Hooper is thwarting McAdoo's attempts to control the position.
Hooper seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McAdoo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hooper connects with a nice short shot to McAdoo's temple.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hooper is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
McAdoo seems to have recovered his senses.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That's time! Hooper's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Hooper takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
McAdoo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hooper looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Hooper fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
McAdoo takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Hooper takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Hooper connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed McAdoo momentarily.
Hooper avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Hooper looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
McAdoo takes a swing at Hooper's ribcage but misses.
McAdoo throws a leg kick but Hooper moved away.

McAdoo takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

McAdoo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Hooper looks to score with a jab to the body but McAdoo is just out of range.
McAdoo moves forwards but Hooper connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Hooper lands an overhand right.
McAdoo moves out of range of the strikes.
Hooper feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits McAdoos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
McAdoo takes a shot right to the bread basket.
A chopping leg kick lands by Hooper.
Hooper lunges at McAdoo with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by McAdoo's hand.
Hooper connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.


That has opened up Noah McAdoo's cut even more.
McAdoo throws a leg kick but Hooper sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Hooper wants to clinch

and McAdoo counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hooper tries to get to full guard but McAdoo has control of the leg.
Hooper is trying to maintain the position but McAdoo is very close to passing his half guard.

McAdoo stands up and beckons Hooper to join him on the feet.
McAdoo misses with a leg kick
and McAdoo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A jab from Hooper does it's job there.
McAdoo looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

McAdoo moves into the clinch.
Hooper lands a left hand that snaps the head of McAdoo backwards.
Hooper tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Noah McAdoo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
McAdoo lands a shot to the body.
Still in the clinch, Hooper scores with a nice short uppercut.
McAdoo blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Hooper misses with a hook from the clinch.

McAdoo blocks a body shot from Hooper.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, McAdoo creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

McAdoo is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

McAdoo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hooper lands a nice hook to McAdoo's body. McAdoo takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
McAdoo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hooper to score with a decent uppercut.
McAdoo drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

McAdoo looks to land a body kick but Hooper moved away.
Hooper slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hooper throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck McAdoo on the side of the head.
Noah McAdoo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hooper takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
McAdoo will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
McAdoo has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
McAdoo scores with a nice head shot.
Hooper loads up on a big right hand but McAdoo slips the punch.

McAdoo takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McAdoo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
McAdoo walks into a straight right hand from Hooper.
Hooper walks forward and throws a big overhand right! McAdoo drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Hooper swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from McAdoo's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Troy Hooper!
