Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Derozan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stefano Skubini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimmy Derozan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Stefano Skubini! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Sam Margolis and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Skubini tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Derozan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Skubini wants to clinch. Skubini tries to clinch up. Skubini is looking to clinch but Derozan is avoiding it.
Skubini lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Skubini. Derozan misses with a wild body shot. Skubini avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Derozan throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Skubini tries to sprawl but Derozan drives through with a takedown into half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Derozan lands a nice short elbow. Skubini tries to get to full guard but Derozan has control of the leg. Skubini moves into full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Derozan throwing strikes but missing. Derozan wants to pass the guard but Skubini is keeping the position. Derozan sitting in guard here, content to control. Derozan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Derozan postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Skubini had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Derozan defends it easily. Derozan distracts Skubini with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Skubini wants to sweep but no luck. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Derozan scoring with punches to the head and body. Derozan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Skubini on the ground. Derozan lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Derozan is in close to Skubini's body, working some short punches and elbows. Skubini is looking for a triangle but Derozan pushes his legs off easily.
Derozan wants to pass the guard but Skubini is keeping the position. Skubini is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. Skubini tries to close the distance and clinch up but Derozan swats him away and circles back towards the center. Skubini is looking to land body kicks. Skubini tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Derozan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Derozan in side control lands a decent elbow. Skubini is working to avoid the ground and pound but Derozan connects with a decent elbow. You can see the frustration on Skubini's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Derozan working the head and body with strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Derozan remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Jimmy Derozan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Skubini is trying to control Derozan's posture but Derozan avoids it.

Skubini is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Skubini is being controlled here. Derozan lands a decent elbow from side control. Derozan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Skubini can do to turn this around? Derozan working the body and head with strikes. Derozan slows the pace down. Derozan looks up at the clock and then as Skubini takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Derozan smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Skubini is rocked! Derozan lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Skubini down.
Skubini is still in real trouble! Can Derozan finish him? Derozan is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Derozan in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Skubini looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Derozan turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jimmy Derozan! In his post fight interview, Jimmy Derozan started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
