Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Michal Korek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Volya Nikolaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Korek comes to the cage accompanied by Touch me - Samantha Fox. Nikolaev has chosen Fever as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michal Korek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 21 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Volya Nikolaev!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, jab by Nikolaev - just one landing.
Korek lands with a cross.
Nikolaev swings widly with a right hand
and Korek counters with a leg kick.

Korek gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Nikolaev has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Korek after a bit of a struggle.
Korek has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Nikolaev is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Korek can't fight it off and eventually Nikolaev manages to take the fight to the floor. Korek looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Nikolaev escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Korek gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Nikolaev is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That was a close round but I would say that Michal Korek will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Korek misses with an uppercut. Nikolaev saw that one coming.
Korek pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Korek catches Nikolaev with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Korek is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Nikolaev scores with a couple of nice shots.
Volya Nikolaev has got the better of the ground game so far.

Korek is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Korek seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nikolaev does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Nikolaev closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Korek tried to score with a low kick but Nikolaev checks it.

A nice side step and Nikolaev releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nikolaev wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Nikolaev has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Korek seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Nikolaev can turn it around.

Korek stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
