Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dovydas Adomaitis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Petrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Petrov!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Petrov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Adomaitis was covering up waiting for the punch and Petrov finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Adomaitis looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Adomaitis trying to keep a closed guard but Petrov is proving a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Petrov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Adomaitis can't keep his opponent in guard - Petrov advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Petrov seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Petrov is taking a breather. Adomaitis says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Petrov working over Adomaitis with some ground and pound. Adomaitis looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Petrov in particular looking to stall.

We've been informed that Petrov has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Petrov lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Adomaitis down.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Adomaitis tries to reverse the position but Petrov maintains control.

Petrov has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Adomaitis's face.

Petrov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
It looks like Petrov might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Petrov remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Petrov's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Petrov is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Adomaitis's shoulder. That is not cool.

Igor Petrov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Adomaitis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


A head kick misses from Adomaitis.

Petrov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Adomaitis's guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Petrov decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Adomaitis, up you get!

Petrov shoots for a takedown but Adomaitis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
