The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hyypia throws a big shot that misses.
Proctor misses the body punch
and Hyypia counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Proctor throws a lazy uppercut
and Hyypia counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Hyypia lands a jab.
Hyypia uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Proctor.
Hyypia closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Sami Hyypia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hyypia lands a left and a right that send Proctor crashing to the mat, dazed. Hyypia thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Proctor is rocked!

Proctor uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hyypia.
Proctor throws out a loose jab but Hyypia uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hyypia wants to counter with a clinch but Proctor pushes him away.
Hyypia avoids the head kick by Proctor.

Hyypia slips under a jab.
Hyypia lands a nice shot to the body.
Proctor needs to keep his hands up - Hyypia had a free shot at his head there.
Proctor throws a leg kick that misses.
Proctor uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hyypia.

and Proctor cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hyypia looks to score with a jab to the body but Proctor is just out of range.
Hyypia feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Proctor sprawling to the canvas! Proctor rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Hyypia finish him?!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hyypia thuds his shin into the meat of Proctor's side.
Proctor is breathing heavily.
Proctor takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Proctor looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Hyypia scores with a push kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Proctor gets tackled into the cage by Hyypia. Hyypia maintains the clinch.
Hyypia breaks from the clinch.
Hyypia lands a right hook to the body.
Hyypia cracks Proctor with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Hyypia has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Proctor to stand back up!
Oh Proctor is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hyypia digs a good hook to Proctor's body.
Proctor bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Hyypia comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Proctor falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Proctor was out before he hit the floor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sami Hyypia!

A less than humble Sami Hyypia misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
