Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Red Brophy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daiki Yamaguchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Brophy might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to JME - The Very Best. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daiki Yamaguchi!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Yamaguchi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Brophy pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Brophy looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Brophy throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
We've been informed that Yamaguchi has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Brophy stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Yamaguchi.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brophy digs a right hand underneath Yamaguchi's ribcage. Yamaguchi let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Brophy feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Yamaguchi sprawling to the canvas! Yamaguchi rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Brophy finish him?!

The fight stays on the outside here - Brophy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Brophy cracks Yamaguchi with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Brophy has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Yamaguchi to stand back up!

A slapping leg kick lands for Brophy.
Yamaguchi pivots, looking for a leg kick but Brophy is out of range and Yamaguchi settles back down.

Yamaguchi throws a left and a right that both miss
and Brophy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Yamaguchi appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

Brophy is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Brophy just misses with a punch to the body.

A nice inside leg kick there by Brophy. That's going to slow Yamaguchi down.
Yamaguchi walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A nice combination there by Yamaguchi.
Yamaguchi takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Brophy feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Yamaguchi's calf.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Brophy, right into the meat.
Red Brophy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brophy scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Yamaguchi doesn't seem bothered though.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Brophy swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Yamaguchi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Brophy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Red Brophy dominated that round.

That's time! Back to the action!
Yamaguchi ducks right into an uppercut from Brophy.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Yamaguchi, right into the meat.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Brophy, as that shot connected.
That has opened up Daiki Yamaguchi's cut even more.

Brophy cracks Yamaguchi with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Brophy has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Yamaguchi to stand back up!
Yamaguchi is still on wobbly legs! Can Brophy finish him?

Brophy drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Yamaguchi's head, knocking him out cold! Brophy is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.

After winning the bout, Red Brophy thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
In defeat, Daiki Yamaguchi stepped up to the mic, saying 'Sepukku!!!'.
