Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gilbert Valur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott comes into the arena with DMX - Ain't No Sunshine blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Valur's choice of entrance music: David Bowie - Let's Dance. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michael Scott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gilbert Valur! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scott slaps away a takedown attempt from Valur, before circling back to the center of the mat. Sloppy strikes from Valur. Those never looked like landing. Scott takes the fight into the clinch. Valur is trying to maintain a safe position but Scott gets an underhook and turns Valur into the cage. Scott is trying to stall.
Valur is trying to break the clinch but Scott has him pressed against the cage. Scott tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Valur displaying some good clinch control by pressing Scott up against the cage. Scott can't find room to land a body shot as Valur controls the action.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Valur tries to pull guard but Scott holds him up against the cage and eventually Valur drops back down to his feet.
A nice right hand lands inside from Valur. Scott doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round. Valur fails to land the takedown. Michael Scott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gilbert Valur. Valur throws a right hand that Scott ducks under and follows up with a left that Scott also avoids with ease. Valur throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Scott's waist but Scott gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Valur off to one side. Horrible takedown attempt by Valur or perhaps it was just good defense by Scott, which made it look bad. Scott fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Scott shoots in and drives through. Valur sprawls well. Valur stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Valur wants it to stay on the feet. Scott digs a good hook to Valur's body.
Valur drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Scott regains half guard. Valur decides to return to a standing position. Scott is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Valur. A little feinted left hand from Scott on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Scott gets a clinch. Valur blocks an uppercut.

Valur is working for takedown but Scott is calmly controlling the position for now. Valur is trying to pull guard but Scott has him pressed against the cage. Scott lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Valur backwards. Valur has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Scott after a bit of a struggle. Scott lands with a left to the head. Scott swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Scott keeps control of Valur as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Scott misses with a hook from the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scott pulls guard. Scott looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Scott is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Valur is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Scott escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Valur gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Scott keeping moving, preventing Valur from controlling successfully. Valur throws a big elbow that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Scott is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Valur wants to control but Scott is keeping busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Scott is nestled in close to Valur, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Scott thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Valur's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Valur is looking to improve his position.

Scott steps back and let's Valur get back to his feet. Scott fails in his attempt to clinch. Gilbert Valur seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Valur slaps away a takedown attempt from Scott, before circling back to the center of the mat. No luck for Valur with that takedown attempt. Valur shoots and misses and Scott counters by moving into the clinch. Valur is breathing heavily. Valur blocks a body shot from Scott. Scott doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Valur looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Scott slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Scott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Valur swivels though and keeps the full guard. Scott landing some decent shots from guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Valur is trying to control the position but Scott postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Valur is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Valur regains half guard. Scott frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Michael Scott showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Scott, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
