Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Whyte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russell Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Russell Wallace is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Charlie Whyte! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Russell Wallace! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Kavanagh and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A low kick from Wallace misses and Whyte counters with a nice uppercut. Whyte checks a low kick from Wallace. Wallace tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Whyte half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Whyte jabs at Wallace's body. Wallace misses with a leg kick and Whyte counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Left hook, right uppercut from Wallace. Whyte misses the jab. Whyte has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Wallace. Wallace keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wallace takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. A nice inside leg kick there by Wallace. That's going to slow Whyte down. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Wallace tests Whyte's chin there with a solid looking shot. Wallace misses with a leg kick and Whyte counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Wallace! Wallace is not content to let Whyte control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wallace can't do much from the bottom here. Wallace is looking to regain half guard here but Whyte keeps moving and retains side control. Whyte wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wallace, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Whyte is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Wallace has escaped the position, nice work there. Wallace is trying to control Whyte's posture but Whyte avoids it. Wallace is not content to let Whyte control the position. Wallace being controlled for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wallace is looking for a sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wallace is being controlled here. Whyte thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. You can see the frustration on Wallace's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Whyte scores with a slapping inside leg kick. A looping hook to the body misses from Whyte. Wallace does a little dance to reset his feet. Wallace looks like he wants to counter punch here. Russell Wallace seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wallace keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Whyte throws a lazy uppercut
and Wallace connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Whyte cracks Wallace with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Whyte works the jab nicely. Whyte misses with a body punch
letting Wallace counter with a right hand. Whyte throws a jab when Wallace was well out of range. Wallace uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Whyte.
Wallace feints a counter leg kick. Whyte wants to clinch. Wallace shoots in looking for a takedown but Whyte manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wallace's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Whyte is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Whyte throws a right hand that Wallace ducks under and follows up with a left that Wallace also avoids with ease. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Charlie Whyte dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
An inside leg kick from Wallace misses. Whyte blocks a jab. Wallace thows a left - swing and a miss! Whyte is looking to counter punch. Wallace scores with a kick to the body.
Whyte misses with a hook. Wallace ducked under it nicely. Wallace throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Whyte looks to land a body kick but Wallace moved away. Whyte moves out of range of the strikes. Whyte throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A little jabbing left from Wallace on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Wallace takes a swing at Whyte's ribcage but misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. That kick from Wallace tenderised Whyte's leg. Whyte is trying to keep his angry face on. Wallace pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Whyte was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Whyte fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wallace manages to avoid it. Whyte takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Whyte is looking to wear down Wallace with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Wallace loads up on a big right hand but Whyte slips the punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Whyte lands a nice shot to the body.
Whyte keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Whyte throws a body shot but no joy. Whyte looks to score with a jab to the body but Wallace is just out of range. Wallace doesn't succeed with the takedown and Whyte counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Wallace is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Whyte is working for a kimura here but Wallace manages to reverse the position and he's now in Whyte's guard.
Wallace is in close to Whyte's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wallace loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Whyte is trying to keep Wallace in close.
Whyte working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Wallace has passed into half guard!
Whyte looking for submissions off his back. Wallace with the ground and pound but Whyte uses the opportunity to regain guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Whyte looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Wallace has picked Whyte up and slammed him! Whyte can't keep hold of the triangle and Wallace manages to pass to side control! Whyte is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Wallace lands a few punches from side control. Whyte tries to bench press Wallace off him but Wallace keeps the position. Wallace trying to control the position but Whyte is working away. Whyte gets back to half guard. Whyte is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Wallace is tapping! Great win for Whyte!
