Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Red Brophy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kampatimar Shankariya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brophy comes to the cage accompanied by JME - The Very Best. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shankariya throws a hook to the side of Brophy's head but Brophy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Shankariya takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Shankariya closes the distance and clinches.
Brophy lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Brophy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Brophy throws a shot to the body.
Brophy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shankariya moves away.
Shankariya swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Shankariya throws a lazy right hand but Brophy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Shankariya misses with a looping left.
Brophy is looking to counter punch.
A cross from Shankariya lands.
Shankariya connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Brophy's hands.
Shankariya swings widly with a right hand
and Brophy counters with a nice low kick that buckles Shankariya's knee momentarily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sloppy strikes from Shankariya. Those never looked like landing.
Brophy lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
That kick from Brophy tenderised Shankariya's leg. Shankariya is trying to keep his angry face on.
Shankariya swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Brophy moves away from the strike by Shankariya.
Brophy pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Brophy half committed to a counter leg kick.
Brophy lands a body shot.
Shankariya moves to clinch but Brophy breaks away
and Brophy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Shankariya throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Brophy sees it coming and avoids it easily.
We've been told by Brophy's head coaches at ~* Trinity Gym *~ that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Kampatimar Shankariya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shankariya slips a jab from Brophy.
Brophy misses with an uppercut. Shankariya saw that one coming.
Shankariya is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Brophy.
Brophy connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Shankariya momentarily.
Shankariya misses with a hook
and Brophy counters with a nice right hand that sends Shankariya toppling to the canvas! Shankariya scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Brophy finish him?!
Shankariya is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shankariya bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Shankariya is still on wobbly legs! Can Brophy finish him?

Shankariya seems to have recovered his senses.
A big left from Shankariya misses.
Brophy lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Shankariya throws a right hand that misses
and Brophy counters with a huge left! Shankariya is in big trouble! He's backing up but Brophy isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Shankariya from any more damage. A dominating finish by Brophy!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Red Brophy!
An out of breath Red Brophy thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
