Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jesper Parnevik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parnevik comes to the cage accompanied by Montana of 300 - Here Now. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jesper Parnevik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Ward! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Parnevik throws a half hearted mid kick. Ward bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Ward changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. A decent looking cross lands there for Parnevik. Ward darts in looking for a takedown but Parnevik gets double underhooks and turns Ward into the cage. Ward drops his hands momentarily and Parnevik takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Parnevik throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Parnevik.
Ward staying out of range there. Ward avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Nice uppercut lands for Parnevik. That snapped Ward's head back.
Parnevik misses with a hook. Ward ducked under it nicely. Parnevik swings for the body but Ward moves out of range.
A good leg kick by Parnevik. Ward moves away from the strike by Parnevik. Ward connects with a good right hand that stumbles Parnevik. Parnevik circles away out of range and recomposes himself. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ward thuds a left hand into Parnevik's body. Parnevik drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Ward swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Ward is trying hard to land a takedown here. Parnevik sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parnevik throws a looping overhand right but Ward ducks down to avoid it. Crunch! Parnevik slams his shin into Ward's torso. Ward stuns Parnevik with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Parnevik swings for the body but Ward moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Parnevik. Ward does a little dance to reset his feet. Despite the aggression on Ward's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Ward throws a body punch but Parnevik moves out of range. Ward lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Parnevik misses with an attempted mid kick.
Parnevik scores with the left hand. Ward knows he should have avoided that one. Ward throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Parnevik takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Parnevik thuds his right hand into Ward's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Parnevik pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Parnevik slips a jab from Ward. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Parnevik misses with a looping left. Ward bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Ward throws a combination. Parnevik tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ward ducks under a wild hook from Parnevik. Parnevik throws the kick towards the body but Ward avoids it. Ward bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Parnevik bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Parnevik motions for Ward to come forward. Parnevik throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Parnevik looks for the body kick but Ward saw that one coming. Parnevik throws a nice inside leg kick. Parnevik throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Parnevik scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Parnevik tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ward was well out of range. Poor timing from Parnevik. Ward swings for the body but Parnevik moves out of range.
Parnevik looks to land a body kick but Ward moved away. Ward thows a left - swing and a miss! Parnevik misses with a body kick. Parnevik scores with a kick to the midsection. Ward looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Parnevik is fending him off so far but Ward persists. Nope, Parnevik circles away and we're back to standing. Jesper Parnevik has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Greg Ward. Parnevik fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ward looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ward takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Parnevik lands with a kick to the temple. Ward shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" A slow jab from Parnevik misses its intended target. Parnevik scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Parnevik tries to clinch up. Parnevik stuffs the takedown attempt from Ward. Ward gets slowly back to his feet. Ward connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Parnevik lands a glancing blow to the side of Ward's head. A momentary lapse in concentration from Parnevik enables Ward to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Parnevik manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Parnevik seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Ward throws a big elbow that misses. Parnevik trying to control the position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Parnevik looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This has been an exciting period of action! Ward throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Ward controls from within his opponent's guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Ward working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ward connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jesper Parnevik dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ward tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Parnevik throws a counter high kick but Ward was just alert enough to avoid it. Ward throws a big shot that misses. Ward misses with a hook. Parnevik ducked under it nicely. Ward fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Parnevik looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Parnevik throws a lazy head kick and Ward counters with a nice double leg into side control. Parnevik won't be happy with that. Parnevik tries to get back to half guard but can't. Sloppy strikes there by Ward. Ward controlling the position. Ward creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Parnevik sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Parnevik is trying to control Ward's posture but Ward avoids it. Ward is looking to take a break and control but Parnevik is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parnevik is looking to reverse the position. Ward misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Ward tries to score with some ground and pound. Parnevik controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Parnevik struggling a bit here. Ward with the ground and pound but Parnevik regains half guard under the barage of strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ward lands a nice short elbow. Ward sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Parnevik is not content to let Ward control the position. Ward is figuring out what he wants to do next. Parnevik is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Parnevik missing with a left hand there. Ward was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Parnevik throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ward stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Ward will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ward swings away with a body shot that misses
letting Parnevik counter with a right hand. Ward throws a right and a left that both miss. A looping hook to the body misses from Parnevik. Ward does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Parnevik tries to bum rush Ward with a series of wild strikes but Ward uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Ward is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Parnevik avoids the body shot from Ward.
Parnevik scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Parnevik misses with a body kick. Ward misses with an uppercut. Parnevik tries to work over Ward's front leg with a kick but Ward checks it. Ward blocks a jab. Ward looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Ward swings for the body but Parnevik moves out of range.
Ward throws a leg kick but Parnevik moved away. Parnevik uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ward has time to react. Ward bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Parnevik's head backwards. Parnevik takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Parnevik gets caught flat footed, as Ward shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Parnevik is trying to keep Ward in close.
Ward has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Ward wants to control from the top but Parnevik keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Parnevik preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Parnevik pulls Ward in close to prevent any damage. Parnevik avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Parnevik controlling Ward's posture. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Parnevik keeping moving, preventing Ward from controlling successfully.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Greg Ward showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Parnevik ducks under a wild hook from Ward. Parnevik fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Ward dives in for a single leg takedown but Parnevik sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Ward scores with a hook to the body. Parnevik takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Ward throws a head kick that Parnevik semi-blocks.
Parnevik cracks Ward with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Parnevik rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ward moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Ward throws a body punch but Parnevik moves out of range. Ward pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Parnevik slips under a jab. Parnevik connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Ward closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Parnevik is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ward's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ward's back! Parnevik is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ward trying to control the position but Parnevik manages to sink in the hooks. Ward trying to get back to his feet but Parnevik is in full control for now. Parnevik has the hooks in. Ward is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Parnevik slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Parnevik continues to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Ward trying to control but not successfully. Parnevik has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Ward's body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Parnevik has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Parnevik's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Ward is trying to break free.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ward is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Jesper Parnevik overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. I really don't envy Ward right now.
Ward is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Ward trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Ward has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Parnevik biding his time, controlling Ward. This is a sustained period of stalling by Parnevik. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that's the end of the fight! Jesper Parnevik showed his dominance in that final round. Well Parnevik has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
