Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Can Crusher! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Masahiko Kimura! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crusher darts in and clinches Kimura up against the cage. Kimura blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Kimura dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Kimura is struggling to control the position. Kimura continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. Crusher blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Crusher tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Crusher misses with some punches.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Crusher creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kimura tries to pull guard but Crusher won't allow it.

Crusher swings wildly with an uppercut but Kimura uses good head movement to avoid it. Kimura stalling in the clinch but Crusher improves position. Kimura's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Crusher tries to throw a body punch but Kimura avoids it by throwing Crusher back against the cage. Kimura slowing the pace effectively. Crusher misses with a hook from the clinch. Crusher tries a body shot but Kimura blocks it.

Kimura working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Crusher doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Crusher manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Crusher knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kimura on the ground. Crusher tries to stand but Kimura is controlling from the bottom. Kimura keeping moving, preventing Crusher from controlling successfully. Crusher is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Kimura trying to keep a closed guard but Crusher is proving a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kimura looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kimura has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Crusher can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Kimura is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kimura had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Crusher defends it easily. Kimura escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Crusher gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Kimura is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Crusher has his hands clasped together but Kimura extends and breaks Crusher's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Kimura.
