Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Woima Karhu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mack Mythos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karhu comes to the cage accompanied by House of Pain - Jump Around. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Woima Karhu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Mack Mythos!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Karhu closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Karhu is looking to take a break and control but Mythos is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Karhu is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Karhu is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mythos is concentrating on defense, preventing Karhu from advancing position.

Karhu is looking for a kimura here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Karhu looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Karhu wants to control but Mythos is keeping him busy.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mythos is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Karhu trying to control from half guard but Mythos is working away.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Mythos takes a swing at Karhu's ribcage but misses.
Karhu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mythos leaves Karhu with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Karhu drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Karhu is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mythos has escaped the position, nice work there.
Mythos struggling a bit here.

Karhu working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Karhu tries to move into full mount but can't pass Mythos's legs.

Mythos regains half guard there - taking advantage of Karhu's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Karhu is looking for a kimura here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mythos is not content to let Karhu control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Woima Karhu dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Mythos uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Karhu.
Mythos has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Karhu is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Karhu doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Karhu shoots in looking for a takedown but Mythos manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Karhu's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Mythos tries to clinch up.
Mythos connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Karhu momentarily.


It looks like Woima Karhu has been cut.
Karhu misses with a low kick.
Karhu fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Karhu throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Karhu shoots in for a takedown but Mythos shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Woima Karhu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Karhu misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mythos.

Karhu shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Karhu was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Mythos stops Karhu from passing to mount.

Mythos is trying to get back to half guard.
Karhu content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Karhu seems to be looking for submissions.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Mythos throws a series of punches but Karhu moves out of range.
Nice sprawl there from Mythos as Karhu shoots in.
Karhu scores with a hook to the body. Mythos takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Karhu fails to land the takedown.
Karhu connects with a solid leg kick.
Karhu shoots in but no luck this time.
Karhu throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mythos sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A right-left combo lands from Mythos.
Karhu takes a swing at Mythos's ribcage but misses.
Mythos works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Karhu keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Karhu is looking to wear down Mythos with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Mythos takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Karhu fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mythos to the ground. Karhu is now in Mythos's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Karhu wants to control from the top but Mythos keeps moving.
Karhu looking to sit in guard and control but Mythos gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Mythos has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Karhu to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Mythos is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Karhu pulls down on the head and he's put Mythos to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Woima Karhu!
Woima Karhu decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
