Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Cotto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexi Laiho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laiho is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Cold Sweat/ Thin Lizzy. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alexi Laiho!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Colin Fotheringham and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laiho lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cotto circles away quickly and effectively.
Laiho throws an overhand right that lands on Cotto's shoulder, as Cotto tries to avoid the shot.
Laiho just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromCotto.
Cotto tries to land a leg kick but Laiho saw it coming and moves away.
Laiho with the counter takedown but Cotto avoids it easily.
Cotto's corner calls for a 1-2. Cotto obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Laiho defending well as Cotto loads up on a big left hand.
Laiho fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cotto sprawls well initially but Laiho persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Cotto manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Laiho keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Laiho shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Cotto counters with a straight right hand.
Good standup being displayed there by Cotto as he connects with a hook.
Laiho has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Cotto finds it's way round the side to connect with Laiho's head.
Laiho is rocked!
Laiho ducks into an uppercut from Cotto and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Miguel Cotto!
An out of breath Miguel Cotto thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
