PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fjalar Fuzzy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Katze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fuzzy comes to the cage accompanied by the sound of screaming sluts. Karl Katze will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fjalar Fuzzy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Karl Katze!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Katze bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Katze rushes Fuzzy and presses him up against the cage.
A battle for position here, against the cage.

Katze has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Fuzzy is trying to keep an underhook but Katze manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Fuzzy won't allow Katze to pass to mount.
Katze is trying to control the action in half guard but Fuzzy is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Katze might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Fuzzy kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Katze looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Katze is trying to control. Fuzzy wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Fuzzy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Fuzzy tries to roll over but Katze keeps him under control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fuzzy keeps the fight on the outside.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fuzzy loads up on a big right hand but Katze slips the punch.
Katze tries to clinch up but Fuzzy circles away and keeps his distance.
Fuzzy throws a hook to the side of Katze's head but Katze sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Fuzzy throws a hook but Katze avoids it easily.
Katze tries to close the distance and clinch but Fuzzy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A big left from Fuzzy misses.
Katze wants to clinch.
Fuzzy swats away the attempt to clinch by Katze.
Katze is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fuzzy.
Katze throws a low kick but Fuzzy avoids it.
Katze thows a body shot but no joy.
Karl Katze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Katze clinches up with Fuzzy and pushes him back against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Katze stalls.
Katze is trying to maintain a safe position but Fuzzy gets an underhook and turns Katze into the cage.
Katze keeps control of Fuzzy as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Fuzzy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Fuzzy jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.


It looks like Karl Katze has been cut.
Fuzzy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Fuzzy throws a hook but Katze avoids it easily.
Katze slips a jab from Fuzzy.
Katze is looking to clinch but Fuzzy is avoiding it.
Fuzzy throws a right and a left that Katze avoids nicely.
Katze uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Fuzzy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Katze clinches.
Fuzzy taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Fuzzy breaks the clinch.
Katze looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fuzzy is fending him off so far but Katze persists. Nope, Fuzzy circles away and we're back to standing.
No luck for Katze with that takedown attempt.
A telegraphed right hand from Fuzzy misses the target.
Fuzzy lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Katze throws a hook but Fuzzy blocks it.
Katze is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Katze shoots in looking for a takedown. Fuzzy tries to sprawl out of it but Katze keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fuzzy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fjalar Fuzzy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karl Katze.
Katze tries to clinch up but Fuzzy circles away and keeps his distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Katze is looking to clinch.
Katze shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fuzzy but Fuzzy pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Katze avoids the body shot from Fuzzy.
Fuzzy is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Fuzzy's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Fuzzy keeps the fight on the outside.
Fuzzy keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Fuzzy waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Katze. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Katze to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Katze working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fuzzy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fuzzy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Fuzzy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Katze is proving hard to escape from.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Katze is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fjalar Fuzzy dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Karl Katze's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Fuzzy throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Fuzzy throws a looping overhand right but Katze ducks down to avoid it.
Katze moves into range and connects with a jab.
Katze throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Katze shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Fuzzy really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Fuzzy avoids a series of strikes thrown by Katze.
Fuzzy working to try and regain half guard.
Fuzzy might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Katze trying to control but Fuzzy is having none of it.
Katze prevents Fuzzy from getting the reversal.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Katze wants to control the pace but Fuzzy is squirming around nicely.
Fuzzy avoids a series of strikes thrown by Katze.
Katze postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Fuzzy looks a forlorn figure.
Katze throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Katze fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Katze is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Fuzzy is surviving well by controlling Katze's body position as best he can.
Fuzzy avoids a series of strikes thrown by Katze.
Fuzzy wants to hold on but Katze pushes him away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Katze looking to control but Fuzzy is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Katze avoids the attempt from Fuzzy to control.

Fuzzy is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Katze locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Fuzzy is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Karl Katze!
