Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Cole (ranked 229 p4p, 31 weight class) and Jutta Hanolla (ranked 193 p4p, 26 weight class). Cole comes to the cage accompanied by I Won't Back Down. Jutta Hanolla has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Cole! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
24 - 8 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jutta Hanolla! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hanolla throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Cole counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Cole. Hanolla swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Cole misses with a body punch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Cole. Cole misses with a short punch on the inside. Cole goes for a takedown attempt but Hanolla pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Hanolla throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
It looks like Michael Cole has been cut. Jutta Hanolla seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cole connects with a body shot. Hanolla misses with a body shot.
Cole wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hanolla looks to score with a jab to the body but Cole is just out of range. Hanolla ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Hanolla looks for the body kick but Cole saw that one coming. We've been hearing reports that Cole has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Hanolla throws a hook to the side of Cole's head but Cole sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Cole misses with a straight left.

Cole is looking to counter with a shot to the body. A chopping leg kick lands by Hanolla. Cole stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hanolla. Hanolla connects with a jab. Hanolla swings widly with a right hand
and Cole counters with a straight right hand. Hanolla thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Cole if he has to take too many more of those.
Jutta Hanolla is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hanolla gets off balance looking for a body kick and Cole counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Cole scoring with strikes to the body and head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cole landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Cole is thwarting Hanolla's attempts to control the position. Cole missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Cole lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cole is trying to control. Hanolla wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Hanolla avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cole. Cole missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Cole looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hanolla with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Cole working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Hanolla wants to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hanolla slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Cole stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hanolla swivels though and keeps the full guard. Cole in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cole throws a big elbow that misses. Cole lands a couple of elbows. Cole is working Hanolla over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Cole throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Cole has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hanolla is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cole is aware though and is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hanolla looking to control.
Cole works over Hanolla with some ground and pound from guard. Hanolla utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Cole with a flurry of punches that miss. Cole is fighting to break Hanolla's control of his arms but Hanolla is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Hanolla is trying to keep Cole in close.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cole trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hanolla keeping moving, preventing Cole from controlling successfully. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Cole throws a strike but Hanolla rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Hanolla controls from within his opponent's guard. Cole is pulling down on Hanolla's head. It's preventing any offense from Hanolla, at least for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cole takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Cole moves away from the strike by Hanolla. Hanolla throws a wild body kick that Cole sees coming a mile off. A counter left hand to the body from Cole misses its target. Cole swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cole defending well as Hanolla loads up on a big left hand. Hanolla throws a lazy body kick and Cole counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Michael Cole overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hanolla working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cole doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cole manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hanolla not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Cole landing with the ground and pound. Cole makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Cole is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Cole is in close to Hanolla's body, working some short punches and elbows. Cole is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hanolla can do to turn this around? Hanolla controls Cole momentarily but Cole frees himself. Hanolla looking to control but Cole passes into half guard.

Cole is in close to Hanolla's body, working some short punches and elbows. Cole with a flurry of punches that miss. Cole is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Cole throws an elbow that misses. Hanolla uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Cole's guard. Nice move by Hanolla! Cole pulls Hanolla in close to his closed guard and prevents Hanolla from doing any damage or advancing position. Hanolla stopping the sweep attempt from Cole.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hanolla controlling from the top position. Hanolla's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Cole looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hanolla is one step ahead there. Cole managing to control the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hanolla trying to control the position from guard on top but Cole is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cole goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Hanolla bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Jutta Hanolla seems to be getting the better of the standup. Cole moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Decent striking displayed by Hanolla there. Good shot there by Hanolla. Hanolla scores with a kick to the midsection. A swing and a miss from Cole. Hanolla connects with a crisp jab. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hanolla goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Hanolla tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Cole needs to keep his hands up - Hanolla had a free shot at his head there. Hanolla throws a hook to the side of Cole's head but Cole sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hanolla tries to sprawl but Cole drives through with a takedown into half guard. Cole is nestled in close to Hanolla, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Hanolla desperately trying to maintain half guard. Cole drops an elbow to the side of Hanolla's head. That's two minutes gone in the round. Cole wants to pass the guard but Hanolla is defending well. Cole stalling away here and it's allowed Hanolla to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Cole throws a strike but Hanolla rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Hanolla sitting in guard, not really doing much. Cole is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hanolla sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cole controlling Hanolla's posture. Hanolla wants to pass the guard but Cole is keeping the position. Hanolla loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Cole is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Hanolla trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Hanolla seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Hanolla cracks the inside of Cole's front leg. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hanolla tries a head kick but it misses.
Hanolla throws a half hearted mid kick. Michael Cole is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Cole takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Cole tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Hanolla manages to circle out of the way.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Jutta Hanolla. I think Cole has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
