Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Tourney Fighter (ranked 3478 p4p, 355 weight class) and Shakhbulat Shamkhalaev (ranked 1040 p4p, 126 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Tourney Fighter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Shakhbulat Shamkhalaev! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shamkhalaev's jab looks to have found its range, popping Fighter under the eye. Fighter fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Shamkhalaev looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Fighter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Fighter takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Shamkhalaev throws a sloppy head kick and Fighter moves out of range easily. Fighter loads up on a big right hand but Shamkhalaev slips the punch. Fighter throws an overhand right that lands on Shamkhalaev's shoulder, as Shamkhalaev tries to avoid the shot. Fighter throws out a loose jab but Shamkhalaev uses good head movement to avoid it. Donk. Fighter catches Shamkhalaev right on the button with a cross. Fighter waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Shamkhalaev. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Shamkhalaev crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Fighter - the referee stops the clock and Shamkhalaev gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Fighter. Shamkhalaev manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Fighter pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Shamkhalaev checks a low kick from Fighter. Fighter has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Hey Steves Fight Shack in the buildup to the fight. Fighter tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Fighter throws a hook to the side of Shamkhalaev's head but Shamkhalaev sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Shamkhalaev misses with a low kick.
Fighter checks a leg kick nicely. Fighter tries to counter by clinching up but Shamkhalaev breaks away and moves out of range. Fighter instigates a clinch. Fighter manages to break the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Fighter lands a jab. Fighter throws a jab but it's blocked by Shamkhalaev. Fighter keeps the fight on the outside. Fighter throws a hook to the side of Shamkhalaev's head but Shamkhalaev sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Shamkhalaev misses with a hook. Fighter ducked under it nicely. Tourney Fighter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shamkhalaev connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Shamkhalaev looks to land a body kick but Fighter moved away. Fighter misses with a double jab.

Shamkhalaev throws a low kick but Fighter moves out of range easily. Fighter jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Shamkhalaev misses with a leg kick. Fighter throws out a loose jab but Shamkhalaev uses good head movement to avoid it. Fighter loads up on a big right hand but Shamkhalaev slips the punch. Fighter lands a really nice looking cross but Shamkhalaev seems unphased.
Fighter lets loose with a powerful body kick. Shamkhalaev will feel that in the morning. Shamkhalaev has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Shamkhalaev scoring well with a low kick there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shamkhalaev moves out of range as Fighter throws a body kick.
Fighter tries to clinch up. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Shamkhalaev! But no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice defenses there by Shamkhalaev. Shamkhalaev moves away from the strike by Fighter. Shamkhalaev uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Fighter. Fighter scores with a jab. Shamkhalaev acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Fighter thows a left - swing and a miss! Fighter clinches. Fighter digs a right hand underneath Shamkhalaev's ribcage. Shamkhalaev let out a lung full of air as it connected. Fighter can't find room to land a body shot as Shamkhalaev controls the action.

Shamkhalaev lands on the inside with an uppercut. With the fighters up against the ropes, Fighter throws an elbow but misses. Fighter lands a right hand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tourney Fighter dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Fighter throws a push kick but Shamkhalaev slaps the foot to one side. Shamkhalaev takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Fighter is looking to counter punch. Shamkhalaev throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Fighter, right into the meat.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Fighter here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shamkhalaev throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Shamkhalaev jabs at Fighter's body. Fighter thows a left - swing and a miss!

I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tourney Fighter will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Shakhbulat Shamkhalaev's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Shamkhalaev appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Shamkhalaev missing with a left hand there. Fighter was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Tourney Fighter is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Shamkhalaev misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Fighter.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Shamkhalaev lands a nice leg kick that just misses Fighter's sensitive parts. Fighter closes the distance and clinches. Fighter is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Fighter lands on the inside with an uppercut. Shamkhalaev landing knees to the body.
