Walker comes to the ring accompanied by Jimi Hendrix - Hear my train a comin'. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Don Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vladimir Smirnoff!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
A right-left combo lands from Walker.
Walker throws a head kick but Smirnoff moves out of range.
Walker lands with a kick to the ribs.

Smirnoff clinches.

Walker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Walker fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Walker lands with an uppercut that bounces Smirnoff off the ropes and back into range.

Walker has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Smirnoff walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

It looked like Walker was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Smirnoff.
Walker paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Walker turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Walker swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Smirnoff.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smirnoff doesn't manage to clinch there - Walker circles away.
Walker throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smirnoff.

Walker shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Smirnoff eats them both and turns towards Walker to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

As Smirnoff backs away, Walker returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Walker stuns Smirnoff with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Smirnoff tries to clinch up but Walker circles away and keeps his distance.

Smirnoff throws out a head kick that Walker doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Walker crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Walker's eyes and has decided to let it go on!


It looks like Don Walker has been cut.

That was a close second round but I would say that Don Walker will probably get the nod.

Don Walker showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Walker, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
