Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Fred Sherman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Ralphy Lock! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sherman fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Sherman scores with a crisp jab that stopped Lock in his tracks. Lock drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sherman tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Sherman tries to buck Lock off but he can't manage it. Lock looking to secure an arm triangle but Sherman defends it well. Lock looks winded! Sherman wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sherman blocking the ground and pound. Sherman's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Lock controlling from the full mount. Sherman tries to buck Lock off but he can't manage it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sherman trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lock sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Sherman is trying to stand. Lock has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Kung Fu Fighting Club ($299 entry fee). Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Lock thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lock controlling his opponent. Sherman wants to get back to his feet.
Lock tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Sherman's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Lock controlling the position easily from mount. Sherman trying desperately to get to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ralphy Lock dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Lock slips under a jab. The fighters circling - Sherman throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Lock is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Sherman scores with a jab to the jaw. Sherman connects with the punch. Lock takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Sherman scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Sherman swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. And Lock tries to counter it with a takedown but Sherman pushes his down on his head and steps out. Sherman dips to his left and cracks Lock with an uppercut!
Lock is rocked! Lock leaves his chin hanging out and Sherman seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Lock crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
