With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kurt Shann!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haller connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Haller has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Phoenix Fight Team in the buildup to the fight.
Shann bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Shann tries to break the clinch but Haller is controlling the position.
Shann has a couple of punches blocked by Haller.
Haller can't find room to land a body shot as Shann controls the action.
Haller softening up his opponent with strikes, against the ropes.
Haller lands an uppercut.
Shann takes a shot to the head.
Haller lands with a right to the head.
Shann throws a head punch that misses.
Haller lands a hook to the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shann is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.
Haller misses with a punch to the body.

Haller lands a hook to the side of the head.
Haller lands a right hand that snaps the head of Shann backwards.

Haller tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Shann blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Haller throws a punch but it's blocked by Shann.
Haller cracks Shann with a nice body shot.

Haller misses with a punch on the inside.

Shann blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Haller misses with a hook from the clinch.

Shann seems to have recovered his senses.
Haller stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Shann misses with a short punch on the inside.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Haller lands a left hand that snaps the head of Shann backwards.
Haller cracks Shann with a big uppercut, right up the middle and Shann goes down! Oh, he's hurt! He's bigtime hurt! The referee is giving him a chance to get back to his feet - 4,5,6,7, no, he's called it off! Shann wasn't going to make it and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). David Haller!
A determined David Haller didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
