Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ken Cage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Brian Nafumbo!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cage closes the distance and clinches.

Cage pulls guard.
Nafumbo stopping the sweep attempt from Cage.
Nafumbo is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Cage wants to sweep here but Nafumbo controlling him for the moment.
Nafumbo throws a big right hand that misses.
Cage manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nafumbo manages to get himself to full guard.

Cage controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Cage continues to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
More hug and hope from Cage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cage advances to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cage keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Cage passes to side control.
Cage remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Cage has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Cage passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Nafumbo!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cage tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Cage's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Cage is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Nafumbo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Nafumbo has given up his back.

Cage is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Nafumbo with him. Nafumbo is trying to defend but Cage has an arm under the chin now! Nafumbo grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ken Cage!
