PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lee Sin (ranked 529 p4p, 84 weight class) and Mateus Gracie (ranked 873 p4p, 129 weight class). Sin comes to the cage accompanied by Original Nuttah. Gracie has chosen Broke & Hungry as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sin fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Gracie checks it well.
A big right from Gracie misses.
Sin avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
We've been told by Sin's head coaches at Dr Hatsumi's Clinic that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Gracie misses with a left hand
and Sin makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Gracie throws a lazy right hand but Sin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
It looked like Sin was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Gracie.
Sin is looking to slow Gracie down with leg kicks.
Gracie throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Sin throws a leg kick that misses.
Gracie swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gracie tries to clinch there but Sin circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sin lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Gracie moves into the clinch.

Gracie has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Sin clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Sin is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Gracie.

Sin is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Gracie really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Sin.
Sin looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

I really don't envy Sin right now.
Gracie punches the canvas rather than the man.
Gracie wants to control but Sin is keeping busy.

Gracie is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Sin is defending well though. Gracie let's go of the attempt for now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie keeps control of the position easily here as Sin tries to buck him off.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sin's corner are yelling at him, telling him to just focus on controlling Gracie's hands.
Gracie is not going to allow Sin to sit and survive in this position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gracie just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Gracie has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
A jab from Sin finds it's way through Gracie's defenses.

Gracie has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Sin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Gracie drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Sin gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Sin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gracie lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mateus Gracie was interviewed post fight and said 'These Judges are so bias its unbelievable, I dont know how these people can live with themselves'.
