Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Monroe Chen (ranked 6412 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kanto Terror (ranked 4368 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Kanto Terror enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Monroe Chen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kanto Terror!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Terror clinches with his opponent.

Chen tightens his grip and picks Terror up, before dumping him to the ground. Terror manages to land in guard.
Chen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Chen working some strikes from top position.
Chen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Terror wants to get back to his feet but Chen is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Chen stands up from guard. Let's bang!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Terror pinned against the cage. Terror gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Terror throws out a counter right but Chen avoids it with no problem.

Terror closes the distance and clinches.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Terror misses with some punches.
Chen working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Terror wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Chen has him pressed against the cage.

Chen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Chen drives through and clinches with Terror against the cage.
Chen stalling against the cage.

Terror pulls guard successfully.

Chen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Chen scoring with punches to the head and body.

Terror tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Chen stands and steps away. Terror gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Terror manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Chen on his heels. He'll look to pass Chen's guard now, I'm sure.
Terror looks winded!

Chen is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Terror is aware though and is defending well.

Chen scrambles and gets back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Terror looks to land a combination. Chen sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Chen darts in and clinches Terror up against the cage.

Terror gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Chen regains guard.
Chen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Chen not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Chen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Terror defends it easily.

Chen is looking for a triangle but Terror pushes his legs off easily.
Chen is trying to keep Terror in close.
Chen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Terror is controlling him.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Chen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Terror manages to get himself to full guard.


Chen drops back looking for a leg! Terror is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Terror manages to kick Chen off! Chen jumps back into Terror's guard.

Chen content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Chen stands up over Terror, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Chen gets to his feet. Terror looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Chen darts in and clinches Terror up against the cage.

Chen jumps guard.
Terror throws a big elbow that misses.
Terror postures up.

Chen scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Chen rushes Terror and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Chen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Chen moves into the clinch.
Chen is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Terror can do to turn this around?

Chen is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Terror can't fight it off and eventually Chen manages to take the fight to the floor. Terror looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Chen is working Terror over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Chen is in close to Terror's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Chen postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Chen decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Chen ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Chen no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Chen kicks Terror off and gets to his feet.

Chen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Terror, pushing him back against the cage.

Terror throwing strikes but missing.
Chen looking for a sweep. Not yet Chen, not yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Monroe Chen dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Chen gets a clinch.

Chen manages to break the clinch.
Monroe Chen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Terror shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Chen wants to get back to his feet.
Terror trying to control from Chen's half guard. Chen has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

Terror takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Chen wants to stand and escape but Terror is having none of it.

Chen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Terror can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Chen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Terror throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Chen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Terror manages to get himself to full guard.

Chen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Chen stands up from Terror's guard - Chen perhaps looking for a knockout.

Terror rushes Chen and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Chen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Chen moves into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Chen misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Terror.

Chen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Chen has closed the distance and engaged Terror in a clinch.
Terror has had enough of the clinch but Chen keeps him there for the moment.
Chen effectively controlling the action here.
Chen stalling against the cage.
Chen seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Terror is trying to trip Chen. He has hold of a leg but Chen is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Terror persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Chen uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Chen gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Chen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Chen wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Terror has him pressed against the cage.

Terror has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Chen uses from the top position.

Chen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Chen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kanto Terror has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Monroe Chen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Chen cracks Terror with a solid left hand.

Monroe Chen showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Chen has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
