Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lao Shin (ranked 189 p4p, 33 weight class) and Bruno Tepes (ranked 392 p4p, 55 weight class). Shin comes into the arena with Shaolin Chamber of Death blaring out of the sound system. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

31 - 13 - 1, fighting out of London, Lao Shin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruno Tepes! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tepes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Shin appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Tepes connects with a jab. Shin takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Shin lands a really nice looking cross but Tepes seems unphased.
Shin misses with a wild body shot. Shin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Tepes. Tepes misses with an attempted mid kick.
Tepes goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Shin is looking to counter with a body kick. Tepes misses with a kick to the body and Shin counters with a nice low kick that buckles Tepes's knee momentarily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tepes lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Shin has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Dr Hatsumi's Clinic in the buildup to the fight. Shin has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Tepes uses from the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shin managing to control the position. Tepes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Tepes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tepes has managed to get both his arms back between Shin's legs - danger averted. Shin looking to control.
Tepes slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Shin tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Tepes presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Shin can't escape the position.

That was a close round but I would say that Lao Shin will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Shin throws a low kick, looking for Tepes's leg but Tepes calmly moves out of range. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Tepes! But no joy. Tepes misses with a kick to the body and Shin counters with a body kick that stops Tepes in his tracks momentarily. Shin blocks a jab. Shin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tepes paws at him with a jab and circles away. Tepes throws a head kick that misses and Shin counters with a nice body kick. Tepes misses the body punch and Tepes takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Shin lands a jab to Tepes's midsection. Tepes takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. A leg kick checked by Shin. A quick step to the side and Shin tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Tepes tries to work over Shin's front leg with a kick but Shin checks it. Shin tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Tepes manages to circle out of the way. Bruno Tepes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Tepes paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Tepes throws a body kick that misses. Shin was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nice jab there from Shin. Tepes bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Shin's head. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Shin. Tepes shrugs it off though. Tepes lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Shin fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Tepes has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Shin lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Shin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tepes throws out the jab. A left lands for Shin. Shin cracks Tepes with an open hand slap. Shin lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Shin lands with a right hand.
Tepes is rocked! Shin lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Tepes falls backwards - clearly groggy! Shin dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lao Shin! Our winner, Lao Shin, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
