PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Asuh Duh (ranked 9071 p4p, 761 weight class) and Tien Shinhan (ranked 8584 p4p, 743 weight class). Shinhan has chosen Breaking Benjamin - Lights Out as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Asuh Duh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Tien Shinhan! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duh misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Duh tries to clinch up but Shinhan circles away and keeps his distance. Shinhan scores with a kick to the midsection. Duh moves in looking to clinch but Shinhan pushes him off. Shinhan lands a head kick. Duh smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Shinhan throws a low kick but it's checked well by Duh. Shinhan swats away the attempt to clinch by Duh. Shinhan goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Shinhan's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Duh connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Shinhan scrambles back to his feet.
It looks like Tien Shinhan has been cut. Duh tries to clinch up. Shinhan circles away from the clinch attempt.
Duh throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
This has been an exciting period of action! Duh avoids the head kick by Shinhan.
Shinhan tries to land a leg kick but Duh saw it coming and moves away.
Duh throws a right and a left that Shinhan avoids nicely. Shinhan takes the fight into the clinch. Shinhan missing with knees to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duh wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Shinhan misses with a knee to the head. Shinhan comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Duh has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Duh wants to break the clinch but can't.
Shinhan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Duh closes the distance and scores with a big combo that sends Shinhan crashing to the mat! Shinhan uses the ropes to get back to his feet and beat the count. The referee looks concerned but he's going to allow it to continue! Tien Shinhan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Duh catches Shinhan napping and connects with a fantastic 3 punch combination that sends Shinhan crashing to the mat! He's still conscious but he's all over the place - can he beat the count?!? 4,5,6,7,8...9...10! He didn't make it back to his feet! Duh raises both arms skywards and takes in the roar from the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Asuh Duh!
