Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Eva Contonio (ranked 7344 p4p, 651 weight class) and Halfdan Lodbrok (ranked 3927 p4p, 441 weight class). Contonio comes to the ring accompanied by Blur-Song 2. Lodbrok has chosen Killing in the name of... as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
19 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Eva Contonio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
26 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Halfdan Lodbrok!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lodbrok darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Lodbrok misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lodbrok misses with an uppercut. Contonio saw that one coming.
Lodbrok throws an off balance right hand
and Contonio counters with a nice body shot.
A head kick by Contonio misses
and before Contonio can reset, Lodbrok rushes him with a swarm of punches, sending him crashing to the floor, in all sorts of trouble! Contonio is trying to beat the count but we're up to 6 already and he's nowhere near. 7,8... he's up! He's going to continue!
Contonio is looking to clinch but Lodbrok is avoiding it.
Contonio lands with a kick to the temple. Lodbrok shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Contonio throws a sloppy head kick and Lodbrok moves out of range easily.
Lodbrok thinks about the counter body kick.
Contonio seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Contonio attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Lodbrok! But no joy.
Lodbrok is looking to chop away at Contonio's legs.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Contonio throws a lazy head kick
and Lodbrok counters with a beautiful hook that drops Contonio to the mat! Will Contonio be able to recover his senses? The referee starts the count at 3 having sent Lodbrok to a neutral corner. 4,5,6 and Contonio is up. He looks OK to continue.
Lodbrok throws a head kick but Contonio moves out of range.
Lodbrok looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
A head kick by Lodbrok misses
and Contonio counters with a nice low kick that buckles Lodbrok's knee momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lodbrok scores with a hook to the body. Contonio takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Contonio connects with an inside leg kick.
Contonio throws a nice head kick!
Lodbrok goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Lodbrok misses with a straight left.
Contonio is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Contonio moves out of range of the strikes.
Contonio throws a head kick that misses.
Contonio scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Contonio fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lodbrok dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

A slapping leg kick lands for Contonio.
Contonio takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Contonio tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Lodbrok throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Contonio drives through and clinches with Lodbrok against the ropes.
Lodbrok pushes Contonio back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Lodbrok lands a hook that snaps the head of Contonio backwards.
Contonio tries a body shot but Lodbrok blocks it.
Lodbrok manages to break the clinch.
Lodbrok throws a body shot but no joy.
Lodbrok lands a front kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Contonio is looking to clinch but Lodbrok is avoiding it.
Crunch! Lodbrok slams his shin into Contonio's torso.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Halfdan Lodbrok will get the nod in that round, having scored multiple knockdowns.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Lodbrok pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Lodbrok takes a swing at Contonio's ribcage but misses.
Lodbrok checks the leg kick.
Lodbrok thinks about the counter body kick.
Contonio dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Lodbrok. That did some damage!
Lodbrok misses with a hook. Contonio ducked under it nicely.
Good leg kick by Lodbrok there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Lodbrok looks to score with a jab to the body but Contonio is just out of range.
Lodbrok tries to work over Contonio's front leg with a kick but Contonio checks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Contonio throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Lodbrok counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Lodbrok takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Contonio blocks a head kick by Lodbrok.

Lodbrok checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Lodbrok ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Contonio.
Despite the aggression on Lodbrok's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Lodbrok throws a sloppy head kick and Contonio moves out of range easily.
Contonio wants to clinch up but Lodbrok keeps it at a distance.
Lodbrok doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Lodbrok's coach down at The Pit was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Lodbrok's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Lodbrok takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Contonio tries to clinch but Lodbrok is having none of it.
Contonio scoring well with a low kick there.

Lodbrok lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Lodbrok fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Contonio throws a sloppy head kick and Lodbrok moves out of range easily.
Lodbrok swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Contonio scores with a head kick.
Contonio pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lodbrok pushes Contonio away with a front kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lodbrok throws a good cross that connects.
Contonio is looking to clinch.
Lodbrok ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Eva Contonio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lodbrok scores with a push kick.
Lodbrok lands a nice hook to Contonio's body. Contonio takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Halfdan Lodbrok showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Lodbrok misses with a body kick.
Lodbrok chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Contonio can pounce on him.
Contonio does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Contonio ducks into a a hook from Lodbrok and goes down! He looks in a bit of a mess; will he beat the count?! 4,5,6,7,8 - he's up and looking to carry on! The referee looks into his eyes and sees that he's OK to continue!
Contonio is rocked!
A punch combination from Contonio misses.
Lodbrok appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Oh Contonio is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Eva Contonio is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lodbrok keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Contonio.

and Lodbrok finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Contonio seems to have got his legs back now.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lodbrok looks for the body kick but Contonio saw that one coming.
Lodbrok catches Contonio napping and cracks him with a perfect head kick! Contonio goes down! He's bigtime hurt! He's not going to make it back to his feet - the referee has called it off! This one is all over!

An out of breath Halfdan Lodbrok thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
