Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Kevaughn Aldridge (ranked 5605 p4p, 629 weight class) and Third Round Romero (ranked 2378 p4p, 312 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Aldridge might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Smooth Criminal By Michael Jackson. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Kevaughn Aldridge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Third Round Romero!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romero dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Aldridge. That did some damage!
Romero tries to close the distance and clinch but Aldridge swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Romero misses with a series of wild punches.

Aldridge rushes Romero and presses him up against the ropes.
Romero tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Aldridge's elbow.

Romero tries to throw a body punch but Aldridge avoids it by throwing Romero back against the ropes.

It looks like Third Round Romero has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Romero breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Aldridge tries to bum rush Romero with a series of wild strikes but Romero uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Aldridge throws a sloppy head kick and Romero moves out of range easily.

and Romero cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Romero tries to clinch but Aldridge moves out of range.
Aldridge appears to be looking for a big counter.
The fight stays on the outside here - Romero looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Aldridge misses with a few strikes there.
Aldridge is looking to clinch but Romero is avoiding it.
Aldridge swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Aldridge counters with a three punch combo that has Romero backing up. Romero nods at Aldridge to acknowledge the strikes.

Romero avoids a punch combination nicely.

Romero tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Aldridge paws at him with a jab and circles away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Romero tries to land a knee to the head but Aldridge blocks with his arms.

Aldridge manages to break the clinch.
Aldridge throws a series of punches but Romero avoids them all with ease.
Romero throws a chopping leg kick but Aldridge manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Romero throws a nice looking combination but Aldridge bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Aldridge tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Aldridge throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Aldridge has managed to clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Aldridge misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Romero.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kevaughn Aldridge will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Third Round Romero's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Romero has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Aldridge seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Romero can turn it around.
Aldridge is trying to maintain a safe position but Romero gets an underhook and turns Aldridge into the ropes.
Romero gets through Aldridge's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Aldridge glances at the clock... BAM! Romero nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Aldridge crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Aldridge is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Third Round Romero!
Third Round Romero decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
