Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Bornas Lopette (ranked 12780 p4p, 759 weight class) and John Kyle Romo (ranked 9825 p4p, 717 weight class). Lopette's entrance music is Root Of All Evil. A fine choice. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that John Kyle Romo was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
32 - 20 - 3, fighting out of New York, Bornas Lopette! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
50 - 30 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, John Kyle Romo! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romo thumps Lopette with a low kick. Lopette fakes the leg kick and cracks Romo in the body. Lopette misses the shot to the body. Lopette tries to keep at a distance but Romo has taken the fight into the clinch. Lopette presses Romo against the ropes and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Lopette missing with knees to the body.
Romo breaks the clinch.
Romo throws a low kick but it's checked well by Lopette. Lopette checks the leg kick. Romo throws out a powerful jab. Lopette cracks Romo with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes. Romo takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Lopette throws the kick towards the body but Romo avoids it. Nice body kick there by Lopette. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lopette ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Romo moves away. Romo takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Lopette blocks a jab. Lopette with a hook. Lopette does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Romo tries to counter by closing the distance. Romo has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Lopette.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice uppercut lands for Lopette. That snapped Romo's head back.
Lopette connects with a body shot that sends Romo's belly button to the back. Lopette listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Romo misses the shot to the body. We've been informed that Romo has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Romo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Romo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Romo misses with a wild body shot. Lopette lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Romo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lopette.
Lopette fires out a quick counter leg kick but Romo just manages to avoid it. Lopette throws a hook to the side of Romo's head but Romo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Lopette attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Romo takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. A head kick misses from Romo. The fight stays on the outside here - Romo looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Lopette swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. A big left from Romo misses. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Lopette. Romo wants to counter with a clinch but Lopette pushes him away. Lopette throws the kick towards the body but Romo avoids it. Lopette throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Romo takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. A telegraphed right hand from Lopette misses the target. Romo is looking to slow Lopette down with leg kicks. Romo missing with a left hand there. Lopette was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Lopette scores with a decent looking hook. Romo throws a low kick but it's checked well by Lopette. Romo misses with a double jab
and Lopette counters with a leg kick. Romo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Lopette misses with a wild body shot. Lopette takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Romo dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Romo blocks a leg kick. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lopette will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Bornas Lopette dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Lopette counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Romo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Romo throws a hook but Lopette avoids it easily. A jab from Lopette finds it's way through Romo's defenses. Romo takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Lopette scores with a leg kick.
Lopette throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Romo will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

That's one minute gone in the round. Romo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Lopette is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Romo can do to turn this around? Lopette with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

John Kyle Romo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lopette misses with a series of wild punches.
Lopette wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Romo connects with a leg kick. Lopette looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Jab, jab by Romo - just one landing. John Kyle Romo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Romo lands a nice looking kick to the body. Lopette takes a step back to recover. Romo is looking to clinch. Lopette pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. The fighters circle momentarily. Lopette darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Lopette misses with a looping left. Romo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lopette. Lopette is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Romo. Romo misses the body punch and Lopette makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Lopette lands a front kick. Romo lands a front kick to the face, that drops Lopette to the canvas! Is he dazed or just shocked? He's back to his feet and the referee is going to allow him to continue the fight!
It looks like Bornas Lopette has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Romo catches Lopette napping and connects with a fantastic 3 punch combination that sends Lopette crashing to the mat! He's still conscious but he's all over the place - can he beat the count?!? 4,5,6,7,8...9...10! He didn't make it back to his feet! Romo raises both arms skywards and takes in the roar from the crowd!
