Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
21 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Gabriel Gray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul OConnell!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OConnell takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Gray throws a half hearted mid kick.
OConnell looks like he wants to counter punch here.
OConnell has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Gray throws an uppercut from half a mile away. OConnell sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Paul OConnell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
OConnell gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Gray throws a quick head kick that skims the top of OConnell's head.
It looks like Paul OConnell has been cut.
Good standup being displayed there by Gray as he connects with a hook.
OConnell throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gray shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Gray scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. OConnell doesn't seem bothered though.
Gray throws a nice inside leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
OConnell bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Gray tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gray sends OConnell crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Gray is motioning to the referee to let OConnell up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
OConnell misses with a shot to the body
and Gray counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
OConnell looks to throw the jab but Gray is out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gray throws a front kick that sends OConnell stumbling back into the cage.
OConnell looks winded!
Gray throws a monster overhand right that drops OConnell! Gray follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gabriel Gray!
An out of breath Gabriel Gray thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
