The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Girard throws a hook but Von Spee avoids it easily.
Von Spee falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Girard to counter with a crisp jab.
Girard punishes Von Spee's body with a nice straight punch.
Girard lunges at Von Spee with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Von Spee's hand.
Girard moves into range and connects with a jab.
Girard looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Von Spee misses with a right hand
and Girard counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Maximilian Von Spee has been cut.
Von Spee misses with a hook. Girard ducked under it nicely.
Girard swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Von Spee moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Maximilian Von Spee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Von Spee uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Girard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Von Spee throws out a counter right but Girard avoids it with no problem.

Von Spee throws a lazy right hand but Girard sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
As Von Spee looks to move away, Girard throws a big counter combo but Von Spee just gets out of the way.
Von Spee throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Von Spee wants to land a leg kick but Girard is out of range.
Girard looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Girard looks to score with a jab to the body but Von Spee is just out of range.
Girard on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Girard seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Girard throws a series of punches but Von Spee moves out of range.
Von Spee throws out a powerful jab.
Von Spee throws a right hand that misses
and Girard counters with a huge left! Von Spee is in big trouble! He's backing up but Girard isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Von Spee from any more damage. A dominating finish by Girard!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gaultier Girard!
Gaultier Girard spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
