Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Mikson (ranked 4310 p4p, 546 weight class) and Isaiah Cooley (ranked 2976 p4p, 406 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike Mikson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Isaiah Cooley!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Skip Squint and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooley keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Cooley connects with a right hand. Mikson shakes it off.
Mikson shoots and misses
and Cooley connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mikson is defended easily by Cooley.
We've been hearing reports that Mikson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Cooley fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Mikson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mikson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cooley avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Mikson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Cooley.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mikson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Cooley to counter with a crisp jab.
Mikson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cooley defends it nicely.
Mikson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Cooley counters with a huge left! Mikson is in big trouble! He's backing up but Cooley isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Mikson from any more damage. A dominating finish by Cooley!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Isaiah Cooley!
After winning the bout, Isaiah Cooley thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
