Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sesto D Ippolito (ranked 1536 p4p, 193 weight class) and Thomas Raske (ranked 1184 p4p, 151 weight class). D Ippolito comes to the cage accompanied by Squeeze- Cool for Cats. Thomas Raske has the eye of the tiger tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thomas Raske!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
D Ippolito throws a shot from downtown. Raske moves away and avoids it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Raske. D Ippolito does a little dance to reset his feet.
Thomas Raske seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight stays on the outside here - Raske looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Raske has managed to clinch.
Raske tries to work over D Ippolito's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
We've been hearing reports that D Ippolito has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
D Ippolito tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Raske smiles and moves away.

D Ippolito attempts a counter takedown but Raske avoids it well and moves away.

Raske keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
A punch lands to the side of Raske 's head but he takes it in his stride.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Raske tries to escape but D Ippolito is in control.
D Ippolito has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Raske!
Raske wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

D Ippolito is working for a guillotine from mount but Raske frees his head quite easily.
Raske is trying to stand up.
Raske is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
D Ippolito lands a big elbow.

D Ippolito lands with some strikes.
Raske squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
BOOM! D Ippolito connects with a massive shot to the dome!

D Ippolito working for a submission but Raske is keeping him at bay.
Raske is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Raske is rocked!
Raske wants to get back to his feet.

Raske is still in real trouble! Can D Ippolito finish him?

D Ippolito working for a guillotine from mount but Raske is in no mood to give up.
Raske seems to have recovered his senses.

Raske defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from D Ippolito.
D Ippolito won't let Raske get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Raske somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Raske tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. D Ippolito manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
D Ippolito feinted with a counter takedown.
Raske closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Raske looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Raske misses with a straight left.
A slow jab from Raske misses its intended target.
Raske jabbing away but nothing is landing.
D Ippolito steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Raske.
A low kick from Raske is predictable there

and D Ippolito counters with a takedown into side control.
Raske wants to get back to his feet.

D Ippolito working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Raske is pushing D Ippolito's head away, looking to escape. D Ippolito manages to hold on to the position though.

D Ippolito is trying to get an arm triangle but Raske is defending well.

D Ippolito has hold of Raske's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Raske seems comfortable defending it but D Ippolito has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Raske is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Raske is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but D Ippolito couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sesto D Ippolito!
Sesto D Ippolito tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
