Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Petey Bartlett (ranked 1382 p4p, 62 weight class) and James Pearson (ranked 2626 p4p, 108 weight class). Bartlett comes to the cage accompanied by KEN mode - Counter Culture Complex. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Petey Bartlett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Pearson!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearson throws the kick towards the body but Bartlett avoids it.
Pearson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.


It looks like James Pearson has been cut.
Bartlett moves out of range of the body kick.
A counter left hand to the body from Bartlett misses its target.
Bartlett on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Pearson. Pearson obviously looking to wear him down.
Pearson throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Bartlett counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Bartlett takes a swing at Pearson's ribcage but misses.
Pearson ducks under a wild hook from Bartlett.
Pearson with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Bartlett connects with a crisp jab.
Pearson scores with a leg kick.
Bartlett throws a body shot but no joy.
A nice side step and Pearson releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Bartlett keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
It looked like Bartlett wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Bartlett misses with a body punch
and Pearson counters with a low kick, right behind Bartlett 's knee.
Pearson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bartlett has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Bartlett drops Pearson with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Pearson looks back up at him and smiles so Bartlett waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


That has opened up James Pearson's cut even more.
Bartlett uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pearson.
Bartlett is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Pearson throws a head kick that misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A leg kick checked by Bartlett.
Bartlett connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Pearson! He's out on his feet! Bartlett rushes in and drops Pearson with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Petey Bartlett!
