Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bartholomäus Wolff (ranked 115 p4p, 11 weight class) and Mukinio Tambua (ranked 640 p4p, 72 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mukinio Tambua!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by Wolff.
Tambua fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Wolff looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Wolff thumps Tambua with a low kick.
Tambua is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wolff sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Tambua scores with a sloppy right hand. Wolff should have avoided that one.

It looks like Mukinio Tambua has been cut.
Tambua chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Wolff can pounce on him.
Wolff shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Wolff fires out a quick counter leg kick but Tambua just manages to avoid it.

Tambua takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

No joy there for Tambua, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Wolff.

Mukinio Tambua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tambua lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Tambua scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

It looked like Wolff wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Wolff is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.

Wolff throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Tambua closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wolff circles away.
Bartholomäus Wolff has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mukinio Tambua.

Tambua takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Tambua throws a lazy right hand but Wolff sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Wolff tried to counter with a leg kick but Tambua avoided it.
Tambua doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Wolff counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Wolff goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Tambua is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Wolff had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Wolff lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Tambua at a distance.
Tambua scores with the left hand. Wolff knows he should have avoided that one.
Tambua goes for a double leg but Wolff avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wolff continues to drive forward.
A telegraphed right hand from Tambua misses the target.
Tambua closes the distance and clinches up with Wolff, looking for a takedown. Tambua pushes Wolff against the cage but Wolff circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Tambua uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wolff.
Tambua has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Tambua moves out of range as Wolff throws a body kick.
Wolff slips a straight right by Tambua.
Tambua connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Wolff's hands.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bartholomäus Wolff is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Wolff counters with a left to the body.
Tambua takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Wolff's corner calls for a 1-2. Wolff obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

That has opened up Mukinio Tambua's cut even more.
Wolff fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Tambua square on the jaw! Damn, Tambua is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!

In his post fight interview, Bartholomäus Wolff started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
